Paul Seiler Executive Director/CEO
Paul V. Seiler assumed the duties of Executive Director/CEO of USA Baseball full-time in January of 2000. Seiler is a 19-year veteran of the organization, beginning his career with USA Baseball in 1988. He has held a variety of positions during that time, including the Director of National Team Operations from 1997-99.
In 2000, Seiler worked closely with Major League Baseball (MLB), the MLB Players Association and the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to help lead Team USA to its first ever Olympic gold medal at the Sydney Games. The Trenton, N.J., native recently held an at-large position on the Executive Committee of the International Baseball Federation (IBAF) and is currently the second vice president of COPABE, the Pan American Baseball Confederation. Seiler was also one of two technical delegates for baseball in the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.
Seiler holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology (Pre-Med) from the University of Scranton (Pa.) where he played soccer for the nationally ranked Royals. Paul and his wife, Wendi, have a son, Braden and a daughter, Abigail, and they live in Cary, N.C.
Ashley Bratcher Director, Operations & Women’s National Team
Ashley Bratcher first joined USA Baseball in April 2009 as an operations intern after working for the University of North Carolina Women’s Soccer Program as both a team manager and as an administrator of the North Carolina Girl’s Soccer Camps. As an intern at USA Baseball, Bratcher worked on camps and clinics and other events at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. She joined USA Baseball full-time in October 2009 as the Director of Operations and the Women’s National Team, where she oversees all operational needs at the National Training Complex, USA Baseball camps and clinics and the Women’s National Team program.
Bratcher graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in May of 2009 with a degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a focus on Sport Administration. She now resides in Durham, N.C.
Eric Campbell General Manager, National Teams
A 1980 graduate of Omaha Burke High School and a 1986 graduate of Creighton University (Neb.), Eric Campbell has spent 25 years in the sport industry as a professional player, a college coach, a college administrator, a college instructor, and currently as an administrator at USA Baseball.
Campbell helped lead Burke to the 1979 Nebraska State High School Championship. As a player at Creighton from 1981-84, Campbell played a variety of positions and even played all nine positions in a college baseball game. After being drafted by the Chicago White Sox as a pitcher and catcher, Campbell was released from professional baseball in 1985 and began his coaching/administrative career. After serving nine years in assistant coach roles at Creighton, St. Thomas University (Fla.) and the United States Air Force Academy (AFA), Campbell served as the head baseball coach at the AFA from 1995-1998. Campbell's 1995 club posted 29 wins, a mark that stands as the second most wins in a season in AFA history.
After serving as a volunteer administrator to two United States Olympic Committee Olympic Festivals and serving as an administrator and coach to various USA Baseball events, Campbell joined the staff at USA Baseball in January of 2000. After serving four years as the primary administrator for the Junior National Team (18U) program and various professional level programs, Campbell now serves as an administrator for USA Baseball National (Collegiate) and Professional Teams.
In his eight years at USA Baseball, Campbell has served as the primary or assistant team administrator for 20 national teams. USA Baseball's National Team won gold medals at the 2004, 2006 and 2008 FISU World Collegiate Championships, and he helped guide the 2008 U.S. Olympic Baseball Team to a bronze medal in Beijing. Campbell also served on the technical committee for the inaugural World Baseball Classic in 2006 and is the team leader for the 2009 squad.
In 2009, Campbell helped lead the World Baseball Classic Team to a fourth-place finish, the Collegiate National Team to a World Baseball Challenge title and the World Cup Team to its second consecutive gold medal.
Campbell is married to the former Janette Bushyager and they have two daughters, Tillie and Lucy. The Campbells live in Raleigh, N.C.
Ray Darwin Chief Financial Officer
After twelve years with the organization, Ray Darwin was named Chief Financial Officer (CFO) in the spring of 2009. In this position, he oversees the human resources, accounting, and finance functions, with a focus towards maximizing the organization's efficiency. In addition, Darwin assists in the planning, selection, and administration of USA Baseball's various professional teams that participate in the World Baseball Classic, IBAF Baseball World Cup and Olympic Games.
Prior to serving as the CFO, Darwin managed both the 16U and 18U programs and assisted with many facets across the organization. Under his guidance, the 18U program won medals four out of five years from 2004-2008 including the silver medal at the 2008 IBAF "AAA" World Junior Championships. From 1998-2003, the 16U program compiled a 34-3 overall record and won three straight IBAF "AA" World Youth Championships. Darwin joined the organization as a Media Relations intern in May 1997.
Before joining USA Baseball, Darwin gained sports management experience working for the Texas Rangers and the University of Pennsylvania athletic department. He earned a Bachelor of Science in economics with a concentration in marketing from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He also completed the Major League Scouting Bureau's Scout Development program in the fall of 2000 and has recently extended his education in accounting at North Carolina State University. Darwin lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife, Stacy, his daughter, Miranda, and son, Sam.
Jake Fehling Director, Media & Public Relations
A native of Southern Pines, N.C., Jake Fehling worked in USA Baseball's marketing department from 2003-05, where he was responsible for the development and execution of the organization's local marketing plan during its first two summers in North Carolina. In his current role with USA Baseball, he serves as the organization's contact for media inquiries, press releases and other official organizational communication. Fehling is also responsible for overseeing the organization's press officers who travel with the National Teams on an annual basis. He also held the position of Manager, Media Relations of the International Baseball Federation from 2007-09.
Fehling gained Olympic Games and National Governing Body experience when he served as an intern in the USOC's Media & Public Relations Department in 2002. Immediately prior and following his time with the USOC, Fehling interned for Pinehurst Championship Management and the U.S. Golf Association (USGA) at the 2001 U.S. Women's Open in Southern Pines, the 2002 U.S. Senior Open in Baltimore and the 2003 U.S. Open in Olympic Fields, Ill.
After leaving USA Baseball in 2005, he re-joined the USGA, overseeing the corporate merchandise operation of the 2005 Walker Cup in Chicago and the 2006 U.S. Open at Winged Foot in Mamaroneck, N.Y., before making his way to a marketing and sales role at Jet Set Sports/CoSport, one of the world's leading Olympic Games ticket and hospitality providers. Fehling also served as the press attaché for wheelchair basketball and boccia for the USOC at the Athens 2004 Paralympic Games.
Fehling graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill in 2002 with a degree in Broadcast Journalism and lives with his wife, Page, and son, Ford, in Raleigh, N.C.
Nate Logan Coordinator, Special Projects
Nate Logan joined the USA Baseball team in September of 2007 after serving one year as an assistant baseball coach at Louisburg College (N.C.). Logan oversees USA Baseball's 14U National Team and the 14U Championships, and he helps coordinate events like the Triangle Classic, Labor Day Cup and 14U Cup, all of which are held annually at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.
Logan first gained experience with USA Baseball working in the operations department for the Tournament of Stars and, later, the 16U Championships. He was named Coordinator, Special Projects in 2009, and after later assuming his current position with the organization, Logan helped lead the 2009 14U National Team to a gold medal at the COPABE "A"/14U Pan American Championships.
Logan received a degree in Exercise Science with a focus in Sport Management from Campbell University (N.C.) in 2006. He currently resides in Raleigh.
David Perkins Chief Operating Officer
David Perkins joined USA Baseball in March 1998, first working on the organization's Junior Olympic Baseball Championships. The then 56-team tournament has since become the 144-team USA Baseball 16U Championships. At the end of that summer, he assumed responsibility for USA Baseball's merchandise and retail programs. One year later, and prior to the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Perkins moved into the role of Associate Director of Business Development.
In 2003, the Tucson, Ariz., native was promoted to Director of Marketing and Licensing, and, later that same year, he was part of a five-person relocation committee that selected North Carolina's Triangle-area as the new home for USA Baseball. More recently Perkins has worked to further develop the organization's revenue opportunities through both new on-field programs and marketing programs, which include USA Baseball's multi-year marketing partnership with MLB.
In early 2008, Perkins was named the organization's Chief Operating Officer. Perkins graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Finance. He now resides in Cary, N.C.
Rick Riccobono Director, 18U National Team
As a high school player out of Commack, N.Y., Rick Riccobono gained his first experience with USA Baseball as a member of the 18U National Trials Team in 1997. Drafted in the sixth round by the Boston Red Sox in 1998, he decided to forgo a scholarship at the University of Florida and went on to have a five-year Minor League career with a brief stop in big league spring training in 2000.
Riccobono resumed his education in 2002, which included studies in London in 2004. Later in that same year, he began employment with USA Baseball as an Operations Assistant at the Junior Olympics and 16U National Team Trials. For the next two years, he worked with various National Teams and events for the organization while earning his bachelors at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
In the fall of 2006, Rick formally took control of the 14U National Team program. The team competed in two events in 2007 taking gold twice while compiling a 14-0 record and outscoring opponents, 184-24, finishing the year as the 14U Pan American Champions.
In January of 2009, Rick was named director of the 18U program after serving three successful years at the head of the 14U program. During his tenure, the 14U National Team held a 20-0 record internationally. Riccobono helped lead the 2009 18U National Team to its first-ever COPABE Pan American Championships title.
Riccobono resides in Raleigh, N.C. with his wife, Katie.
Jeff Singer Director, 16U National Team
Jeff Singer was named Director of the 16U National Team in 2004. In his position, he oversees the USA Baseball 16U Championships (formerly the "Junior Olympics"), the 16U National Team Trials and the 16U National Team in domestic and international competition.
Singer joined the organization after spending the 2003 season as the Assistant General Manager of the Vero Beach Dodgers, the then Los Angeles Dodgers Class A affiliate in the Florida State League.
Prior to that, Singer completed several internships within the baseball industry with organizations including MLB's Arizona Fall League, the San Francisco Giants, and a stint with USA Baseball during the summer of 2002. During that internship, Singer ran the Junior Olympics - East in Palm Beach County, Fla. Most recently, Singer helped lead the 2009 16U National Team to a gold medal at the IBAF “AA”/16U World Youth Championships.
A native of Los Angeles and a graduate of the University of Michigan in 2000, Singer resides in Raleigh, N.C.
Brant Ust Director, Alumni Relations
Brant Ust -- a native of Redmond, Wash., by way of Great Britain and Belgium -- is a two-time USA Baseball alum, having played for the 1998 Collegiate National Team and the 2005 World Cup Team. He joined USA Baseball as a full-time employee in 2009 as the Director of Alumni Relations. Through this he reconnects USA Baseball with its former players and helps raise awareness of future organizational initiatives.
After playing shortstop for Notre Dame, Ust was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the sixth round of the 1999 MLB First-Year Player Draft. He went on to play nine years of professional baseball with the Boston Red Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, eventually ending his career with the Seattle Mariners in 2008. The following year Ust served as an assistant coach for the University of Michigan baseball team. Immediately prior to joining USA Baseball, he worked in the marketing department of Scout Force, an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based compliance and recruiting software company.
Ust lives in Raleigh, N.C., with his wife, Jessica, and their one-year-old son, Gavin.
Katie VanLandingham Director, Travel Services
Katie VanLandingham joined the USA Baseball team in March of 2009 as an intern and worked primarily on the 2009 “Extra Innings” Networking Event that took place at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. In January 2010, she began working full-time as the Director of Travel Services, securing flights and hotel reservations for USA Baseball tournaments and National Teams.
VanLandingham graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Psychology and Exercise and Sport Science with a focus on Sport Administration in May of 2009. She has had previous experience working in the human resources department for Sports Endeavors, Inc., and as a marketing/event promotions intern for American Collegiate Intramural Sports. She currently resides in Chapel Hill, N.C.
