CARY, N.C. - Six batters recorded a multi-hit game as Arizona National Baseball Academy used a dominant offensive showing to claim the 2019 10U Futures Championship after defeating Elite Squad, 15-1, at Thomas Brooks Park on Sunday.

The win marked the first 10U Futures Invitational gold medal for Arizona National Baseball Academy.

Braylon Luster earned the win on the mound for Arizona National Baseball Academy (5-0) after striking out eight and allowing just one run in 3.2 innings. Gavin Hickey suffered the loss for Elite Squad (4-1), giving up five runs in 0.2 innings of work.

Ten different Arizona National Baseball Academy batters tallied a hit on the day, led by Dylan Minnatee who went 3-for-3 with a single, a triple and a home run. Minnatee also led his team with three runs scored in the game, while recording three RBIs. Luke Gladchuk and Franklin Miller added three hits apiece for Arizona National Baseball Academy, while Drew Boyd, Luster and Justin Rodrigues picked up two hits. Dylan Fernandez recorded a hit and an RBI to lead the Elite Squad offense. 

Boyd recorded 11 hits throughout the 10U Futures Invitational to lead the tournament. Minnatee led all batters with four home runs and tied Elite Squad's Fernandez for first in RBIs, with eight.

Key Moments:

  • Luke Gladchuk led off the game with a double to right-center and advanced to third on a passed ball before scoring on a sacrifice fly from Nathan Danzeisen. After back-to-back singles from Drew Boyd and Dylan Minnatee, Arizona National Baseball Academy scored its second run of the game as Boyd came home on a wild pitch.
  • Franklin Miller hit an RBI-triple down the left field line to plate Minnatee, before scoring on a single by Braylon Luster in the next at-bat. Daniel Mosier added the final run of the inning with an RBI-single.
  • Following another double by Gladchuk, Minnatee recorded his fourth inside-the-park home run of the tournament on a fly ball to center field that gave Arizona National Baseball Academy a 7-0 edge in the top of the second.
  • Arizona National Baseball Academy hit three consecutive one-out singles from Justin Rodrigues, Gladchuk and Danzeisen to load the bases the top of the fourth. Dylan Blinn hit an RBI-single to bring home Rodrigues before Gladchuk and Danzeisen scored thanks to an Elite Squad error.
  • Minnatee continued the inning with an RBI-triple to left-center before Arizona National Baseball Academy produced four more runs on four singles and a double to extend the lead to 15-0.
  • Elite Squad scored its lone run of the game in the home half of the fourth as Dylan Fernandez hit an RBI-triple down the left field line to plate Allan Hernandez.
