MVP Gamers Headed to Semifinals with 10-0 Win Over Oklahoma Exclusive Baseball

EULESS, Texas - MVP Gamers used a seven-run inning and effective pitching to defeat Oklahoma Exclusive Baseball, 10-0, on Saturday at the Parks at Texas Star in Euless, Texas. With the win, MVP Gamers advance to the semifinals of the 2019 USA Baseball 13U Futures Series. 

Riley Okon threw a stellar game for MVP Gamers, recording seven strikeouts on five innings pitched. Eric Pena finished the game off and earned the save for MVP Gamers with one punch-out on one inning pitched.

Offensively, MVP Gamers were led by Cooper Contreras (2-for-3) and Fabian Portillo (1-for-3), who both tallied two RBIs in the game. Additionally, MVP Gamers' Christopher Mendoza (2-for-2) was perfect at the dish and scored two runs. MVP Gamers earned seven walks and eight hits throughout the game. Ethan Michael (2-for-2) led Oklahoma Exclusive Baseball's offense.

  • MVP Gamers' Christopher Mendoza tallied the game's first run when he stole third and then reached home on a throwing error from the third baseman to the pitcher.
