About the Tournament of Stars

The USA Baseball Tournament of Stars (TOS) is made up of 80 of the nation's best ballplayers that are international age-eligible for 18U National Team consideration (born in 2000 or later). Official invites for the tournament will be sent from USA Baseball beginning in February and continuing through the spring. USA Baseball covers all costs associated with the event which includes players' travel, lodging (USA Baseball Host Family Program) and uniforms. TOS participants form the primary pool of talent from which USA Baseball will select its 18U National Team to represent the United States at the 2018 COPABE Pan American Championships in Panama City, Panama. To nominate a player for consideration, please email Play@USABaseball.com.

Alumni of the 18U National Team include recently elected Hall of Famer John Smoltz as well as No. 1 overall picks in the MLB First-Year Player Draft -- Joe Mauer (2001), Delmon Young (2003), Justin Upton (2005), Luke Hochevar (2006), Bryce Harper (2010), Mickey Moniak (2016) and Royce Lewis (2017). Additionally, 2012 American League Rookie of the Year and 2014 AL Most Valuable Player Mike Trout played in the 2008 TOS and 2012 National League Rookie of the Year and 2015 NL Most Valuable Player Bryce Harper played in the 2009 TOS. The typical TOS player is highly motivated to be the next person added to this esteemed list.
