He is the latest in a long line of standout Arizona Wildcat catchers, and has rewritten large portions of the program’s record books in just two years in Tucson. In 56 regular season games this year, he hit .363 while leading the Pac-12 and ranking eighth nationally with 87 hits. Susac ranked among the top 10 players in the conference this year in hits, doubles, RBI, batting average, total bases and extra-base hits. He has nearly matched or surpassed every offensive mark he set during his remarkable freshman campaign in 2021 that earned him National Co-Freshman of the Year honors. Already this year Susac was selected as a unanimous Preseason All-American, earned Pac-12 and National Player of the Week honors and picked up a spot on the Dick Howser Trophy semifinalist list.

Kevin Parada has set the catching world on fire as he battles for the nation’s home run crown, currently at 26 -- the program’s single-season record. After hitting .318 as a freshman catcher last year, Parada has continued to be a pitcher’s nightmare as a sophomore, hitting ranking in the top 20 of almost every major offensive category in the nation. He’s garnered national recognition since he stepped foot on the East Coast in Atlanta and continues to meet and exceed expectations as one of the most dangerous hitters in the country.

Parker Messick, the 2021 ACC Freshman and Pitcher of the Year, has picked up where he left off a season ago. The sophomore leads the country in strikeouts and is 14th in FSU single-season history (so far) in strikeouts. Three times Messick has thrown a career-high 14 strikeouts -- against Samford, Duke and No. 9 Louisville. He is his best against the toughest opponents, throwing 8 scoreless innings against No. 16 Notre Dame; 7 scoreless innings against No. 7 TCU; and 6.2 scoreless innings against No. 9 Louisville, which entered the game with the top-scoring offense in the country. In addition to strikeouts, going into the last weekend of the season, Messick was Top 15 nationally and leads the ACC in strikeouts per nine innings (second in NCAA, 14.37); strikeout-to-walk ratio (fifth in NCAA, 10.15) and WHIP (13th, 0.87). A clubhouse and fan favorite, Messick has started all 14 weekends in 2022.
