Canes Baseball 7, Total Baseball Dirty South Bats 3
Canes Baseball used an early lead to defeat Total Baseball Dirty South Bats 7-3 on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
Canes Baseball jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the first thanks to an RBI-double from Gannon Jones, an RBI-triple from Nolan Winfield and an RBI-single from Hunter Graham. Total Baseball Dirty South Bats responded with a run of its own in the bottom of the first. Canes Baseball plated two more runs in the top of the third to increase its lead to 5-1. Sawyer Cannon added another run after an RBI-sacrifice fly to center in the top of the fourth. Total Baseball Dirty South Bats added its last two runs of the game by the bottom of the fourth.
Kyle Wenckus earned the win for Canes Baseball after 6.2 innings pitched and allowing three runs. Zachary Lopez suffered the loss after 4.0 innings pitched, 10 hits and six runs allowed.
Canes Baseball finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, while Total Baseball Dirty South Bats ended their tournament 2-3.
FCA Blueclaws 10, Wilson Sandlot 5
FCA Blueclaws' offense led them to a 10-5 victory over Wilson Sandlot on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
Brennan Bachtell Jr. and Tyler Ellis hit an RBI-single each in the bottom of the first inning to give FCA Blueclaws an early 2-0 led. FCA Blueclaws tacked on two more runs to extend their lead in the top of the second. After FCA Blueclaws add a run in the top of the fifth, Wilson Sandlot tied the game up with a five-run inning in the bottom of the fifth. FCA Blueclaws responded with a five-run inning of their own in the top of the sixth to propel them to a win.
Tripp Hannah earned the win for FCA Blueclaws after pitching 4.0 innings and allowing just two runs. Izaiah Villalobos suffered the loss for Wilson Sandlot.
FCA Blueclaws finished the tournament with a 2-3 record, while Wilson Sandlot ended their tournament 1-4.
KC Crusaders 7, Scorpions Team Easton 5
KC Crusaders used a balanced scoring offense to defeat Scorpions Team Easton 7-5 on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
KC Crusaders started out by tallying three runs in the top of the second inning to give them a 3-0 lead. Elliot Fischer drew a walk with bases loaded in the top of the third to increase the lead to four. KC Crusaders added a fifth run in the top of the fourth after Beau Peterson grounded into a fielder's choice, allowing Brandon Neis to score the fifth run for his team. Scorpions Team Easton responded quickly in the bottom of the fourth by scoring five runs of their own and tying the game. In the top of the fifth, KC Crusaders' Bo Wiegmann hit an RBI-single and Neis was able to score on a wild pitch to give KC Crusaders their sixth and seventh runs of the game.
Wiegmann was the winning pitcher for KC Crusaders after only allowing two hits in pitching 3.2 innings on the mound. Derek Ordaz was tagged with the loss for Scorpions Team Easton after 2.1 innings pitched and two runs allowed.
KC Crusaders finished the tournament with a 2-3 record, while Scorpions Team Easton ended their tournament 1-4.
SBA Futures 7, Stars Baseball Camp 2
SBA Futures used a three-run first inning to defeat Stars Baseball Camp 7-2 on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
SBA Futures jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first thanks to two RBI-triple from Chase Kiker and an RBI-single from Bryce Mancz. Stars Baseball Camp responded with two runs of their own in the top of the second to cut to the deficit to one run. In the bottom of the third, Kiker doubled on a fly ball to left field, plating another run for SBA Futures. Logan Damico increased the SBA Futures lead to three after hitting an RBI-single. SBA Futures added two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to secure the win.
Caleb Hunter logged the win after going the distance and pitching all seven innings for SBA Futures. Chase Allen suffered the loss for Stars Baseball Camp after giving up four runs in two innings. SBA Futures' Kiker paced the offense, going 2-for-2 with three RBIs.
SBA Futures finished the tournament with a 2-3 record, while Stars Baseball Camp ended their tournament 1-4.
Elite Squad 7, Traction Canes 4
Elite Squad led from start to finish as they defeated Traction Canes, 7-4, on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
Elite Squad jumped out to an early 2-0 lead after Kevin Roque singled on a hard ground ball to center in the top of the first. Elite Squad tallied four more runs courtesy of four RBI-walks in the top of the third. In the top of the sixth, Carlos Paneque hit an RBI-triple to left field and Elite Squad scored their seventh and final run of the game. Traction Canes were able to score four runs before the end of the game, but Elite Squad would hold them off from there.
Roque earned the win for Elite Squad after 4.0 innings pitched and four strikeouts. Myles Ledoux was tagged with the loss for Traction Canes. Paneque and Roque paced the Elite Squad offense with two hits and two RBIs apiece.
Elite Squad finished the tournament with a 3-2 record, while Traction Canes ended their tournament 2-3.
Twelve Baseball 11, I AM Baseball 2
Twelve Baseball used a strong offensive performance to defeat I AM Baseball 11-2 on Sunday at Thomas Brooks Park in Cary, N.C.
After four scoreless innings, Twelve Baseball's offense came alive with eight runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Six different batters for Twelve Baseball recorded an RBI, including a two-run RBI-triple from Jackson Cotton. I AM Baseball responded by plating two runs in the top of the sixth and cutting the deficit to six. Twelve Baseball added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth, including another an RBI-triple from Cotton.
Landon Ellstrom earned the win for Twelve Baseball pitching 5.2 innings. Luis Sosa suffered the loss for I AM Baseball after giving up nine hits and three runs in 4.1 innings. Jackson Cotton paced the Twelve Baseball offense with two hits and four RBIs.
Twelve Baseball finished the tournament with a 4-1 record, while I AM Baseball ended their tournament 2-3.
