TAINAN, Taiwan - The USA Baseball 12U National Team registered 12 hits including three home runs and the pitching staff hurled a shutout as Team USA defeated the Czech Republic, 15-0, in the first game of a doubleheader on Saturday, August 3, at the 2019 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup at ASPAC B stadium in Tainan, Taiwan.

The U.S. will conclude the 2019 World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup with game two of Saturday's doubleheader against South Africa (1-6). Team USA moved to 5-2 at the 2019 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup with the win, while the Czech Republic finished the tournament with a 4-4 record overall record. The U.S. has outscored its opponents 100-21 through the first seven games of play.

Rashad Hayes (Oakland, Calif.) went 2-for-2, with a double and a home run, and registered four RBIs at the plate to lead Team USA offensively. Lucas Tinajero (Corpus Christi, Texas) and Dillon Adkins (Mechanicsville, Md.) hit a home run apiece in the contest to tie for the team-lead with three. Hayes and Adkins scored three runs each in the game, while four members of the U.S. squad scored twice.

Jack McKernan (Missouri City, Texas) earned the win for Team USA after striking out five and allowing one hit in the first two innings of the game. Logan Shields (Manvel, Texas) entered the game in the third inning and pitched two hitless innings while striking out four, before the game was called due to the international run rule. Czech Republic's Jan Novak (0-1) suffered the loss after allowing 11 runs in 1.1 innings on the mound.
