EULESS, Texas -  Prospect Central came out firing on all cylinders, scoring 22 runs in the first two innings to defeat CBA Texas, 22-1, and win the 2019 13U Futures Series gold medal game on Sunday at the Parks at Texas Star in Euless, Texas.

Erik Aguirre pitched for 2.2 innings, allowing just one run on four hits with three punch-outs Prospects Central. 

Offensively, Prospect Central were led by Easton Dean (2-for-2 with five RBIs), Gavin Beene (3-for-3 with four RBIs), Jacob Macias (1-for-1 with with three RBIs) and Braelon Richardson (1-for-2 with three RBIs). MVP Gamers accumulated 10 hits and nine walks during the championship game. Easton Andrews (1-for-1 with one RBI) led CBA Texas' offense.

Key Moments

  • Easton Andrews drove in CBA Texas' lone run of the game with an RBI-single grounder that found the right field grass and brought home Cohl Mccoy.
  • In the bottom of the first, Keegan Demmer singled on a line drive to right, allowing Luke Rives to tie the game up.
  • Demmers reached home on a wild pitch during the next at bat in the first to give his team the lead.
  • Braelon Richardson gave his team a two-run lead putting the ball in play and forcing CBA Texas to get the force out at second, allowing Jacob Macias to score.
  • With runners on first and second, Easton Dean ripped an RBI-triple to left field and cleared the bases, giving his team a 5-1 lead.
  • After Prospect Central scored six addition runs in the first, Dean came to the plate with the bases loaded and doubled on a fly ball to right field that again cleared the bases and put Prospect Central ahead, 14-1.
  • In the second, after Prospect Central had plated another six runs, Gavin Beene hit an RBI-double to center field and brought home the 21st run of the game.
  • Luke Rives was responsible for the final run of the day with an RBI-double to right field, bringing the final score to 22-1.
