East Coast Clippers 8, Blue Chips 2


East Coast Clippers plate runs in five of seven innings and eight runs total to defeat Blue Chips 8-2 on the opening day of the 2019 16U Cup at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. 
East Coast Clippers came out of the gates hot, scoring three runs in the top of the first to jump out to the 3-0 lead. They tacked on from there, scoring in the next four of six innings for eight runs total. Five members of the starting lineup had mult-hit days.
Cole Schiff was effective in relief for East Coast Clippers. Schiff tossed 5 1/3 innings of scoreless baseball, allowing just two hits while striking out nine. Schiff (1-0) earned the win while Austin Gemmill was the losing pitcher of record.
The East Coast Clippers, who moved to 1-0 with the win, are set to take on TPA Nationals later on Friday at 3:00 pm ET. Blue Chips will square off against GNYSAA at noon.

GNYSAA 3, TPA Nationals 2


GNYSAA held on to a one run lead to beat TPA Nationals 3-2 and secure their first win at the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup on Friday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
GNYSAA scored two in the top of the first inning to jump out to a commanding 2-0 lead, and that's all that GNYSAA starting pitcher Conner Dusterberg would need. Dusterberg cruised against TPA Nationals, tossing six innings and allowing two runs (zero earned) while striking out three. Dusterberg (1-0) earned the win while Stephen Holland (0-1) earned the loss.
GNYSAA moved to 1-0 with the win and are set to take on Blue Chips later on Friday at 12:00 pm ET. TPA Nationals will take on East Coast Clippers at at noon.

Purpose Driven Baseball 0, VA Cardinals 8


VA Cardinals grabbed a quick lead and held on to get their first win of the tournament over Purpose Driven Baseball 8-0 on Friday at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
J Oates tallied the first run for VA Cardinals in the bottom of the first after hitting a sacrifice fly to right field to drive in a run. In the next inning, Carter Lovasz hit a sacrifice-fly of his own to make the score 2-0. VA Cardinals opened the game up in the bottom of the third after they scored six runs to put them up 8-0.
Lovasz went the distance for VA Cardinals, recorded six punch-outs and earned the win. Zane Taylor suffered the loss for Purpose Driven Baseball.
VA Cardinals improved to 1-0, while Purpose Driven Baseball fell to 0-1.

Team Elite American 0, US Elite 10


US Elite muster 10 runs to defeat Team Elite American 10-0 on the first day of the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup Friday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
US Elite jumped out of the gates early, posting two runs in the first inning, but they really exploded in the sixth, tacking on six runs as the first six batters of the inning reached base. In total, they had five hits and two walks in the inning. 
US Elite was out to a 10-0 lead after the fourth inning, forcing the run rule to cause the game to last just five innings. They won 10-0. 
With the win, US Elite start the tournament 1-0. They will face off against Purpose Driven Baseball later on Friday at 3:00 pm ET while Team Elite American will play the VA Cardinals at the same time.

TPA Nationals 3, East Coast Clippers 4


East Coast Clippers scored two in the bottom of the seventh to walk off TPA Nationals and win 4-3 on the first day of the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup Friday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
Not much was going for either side through the first four innings, with TPA National having scored the only run up to that point. East Coast Clippers scored two in the bottom of the fifth to take the 2-1 lead, but their lead wouldn't last long as TPA National scored in the top of the sixth and then again in the seventh to get ahead 3-2.
Down by one in the bottom of the seventh, East Coast Clippers rallied to score two and walk it off, defeating TPA Nationals 4-3 to stay undefeated at the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup. 
With the win, East Coast Clippers start the tournament 2-0. They will face off against GNYSAA on Saturday morning at 9:00 am ET while TPA Nationals, who fell to 0-2, will play the Blue Chips at the same time.

VA Cardinals 3, Team Elite American 7


After falling behind early, Team Elite American defeated VA Cardinals 7-3 on Friday at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
In the top of the first, VA Cardinals jumped out to a 2-0 lead after scoring on a passed ball and an RBI-double. Team Elite American responded in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI-double that scored two to tie up the game. VA Cardinals hit an RBI-tripled in the top of the third to regain a 3-2 lead.
Team Elite American was able to tack on four more runs in the bottom of the fifth and go up 6-3. Team Elite American scored one last insurance run in the sixth after an RBI-single made the final score 7-3.
Nick Moran earned the win for Team Elite American after five innings pitched. Brett Allen suffered the loss for VA Cardinals.
Team Elite American improved to 1-1, while VA Cardinals fell to 1-1.

US Elite 6, Purpose Driven Baseball 4


US Elite scored in five different innings and defeated Purpose Driven Baseball 6-4 on Friday at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
US Elite scored first after an RBI-single plated the first run of the game. Purpose Driven Baseball responded with two runs in the bottom of the second thanks to an RBI-ground out and an RBI-single to make the score 2-1. US Elite took advantage of an error and tied the game up in the fourth.
In the next inning, US Elite tacked on two more runs thanks to an RBI-single and a throwing error. US Elite added another run in the top of the sixth to make the score 5-2. Purpose Driven Baseball answered with a run of their own on an RBI-single. US Elite added an insurance run in the top of the seventh after reaching on an error to make the score 6-3. 
Liam Martin earned the win for US Elite. Jacob Dienes suffered the loss for Purpose Driven Baseball.
US Elite improved to 2-0 in the tournament, while Purpose Driven Baseball fell to 0-2.
