East Coast Clippers 12, GNYSAA 2


East Coast Clippers used an eight-run inning to defeat GNYSAA 12-2 on Saturday at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
East Coast Clippers' Colin Scoggins got his team out to an early lead in the first inning with an RBI-single to left. East Coast Clippers kept the momentum in the bottom of the second and plated eight runs on six hits. GNYSAA was able to tally a run in the top of the fourth after Christopher Martinez flied out to center, allowing Manuel Felix Jr. to score. East Coast Clippers added three more runs in the bottom of the fourth and held GNYSAA to one run in the fifth and enforced a run-rule to end the game.
Thomas Welton earned the win for East Coast Clippers after five innings pitched. David Thomas suffered the loss for GNYSAA.
East Coast Clippers improved to 3-0 and earned a spot in the semifinals tomorrow, while GNYSAA fell to 2-1.

Blue Chips 8, TPA Nationals 4


TPA Nationals scored six runs in the fifth and defeated Blue Chips 8-4 on Saturday at the National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
Blue Chips plated two runs in the top of the second after reaching home on an error and wild pitch. TPA Nationals responded in the third when Payton Bloom scored on a wild pitch to cut the deficit to one. Bloom tied the game up later in the fourth with a line drive to center. TPA Nationals scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth and took an 8-2 lead. Blue Chips were able to tally two runs in the top of the seventh but would be held there. 
Jonah Oster earned the win for TPA Nationals after five innings pitched and recording three strikeouts. Cameron Pratt suffered the loss for Blue Chips.
TPA Nationals are now 1-2 in the tournament, while Blue Chips fell to 0-3.

Purpose Driven Baseball 0, Team Elite American 4


Team Elite American accumulated four runs and were supplemented with two scoreless pitching performances on Saturday morning to defeat Purpose Driven Baseball 4-0 at the 2019 USA Baseball 16U Cup in Cary, North Carolina.
Chris Katz and Dustin Pulley combined for seven scoreless innings on the mound for Team Elite American, allowing just two hits whiles striking out eight. Katz (1-0) earned the win while Sawyer Sutton (0-1) was the losing pitcher.
The two top hitters in the Team Elite American lineup, Zach Middleton and Blaize Keen combined to go 2-for-6 with three RBIs.
With the win, Team Elite American move to 2-1 at the 16U Cup. They will face off against East Coast Clippers Sunday at 8:00 am ET for the chance to play in the championship game. Purpose Driven Baseball fall to 0-3 after the loss and will play Blue Chips at 11:00 am ET on Sunday.
