The Pittsburgh Pirates have selected Pat McAnaney twice now (in the 38th round in 2007 and in the 28th round out of high school). The left-hander came back for his senior season, though, to lead the Virginia staff, setting career-highs in strikeouts and innings pitched. McAnaney was named to the Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American Team in 2005 after going 7-0 with a 1.55 ERA. His ability to throw strikes makes him a valuable commodity from the left side.
