With his save at USC on May 19, David Berg broke the UCLA single-season record for most saves in a season, surpassing Scott Griggs' 15 saves in 2012. Berg led the nation with a 0.58 ERA and is just three saves shy of matching the all-time record for saves at UCLA (Gabe Sollecito, 21). Berg has also allowed the fewest walks (7), runs (4) and hits (40) in the Pac-12, and is second in the nation in WHIP with a 0.75 mark. He appeared in 39 games (most in the Pac-12) and posted a record of 6-0 with 62 strikeouts over 62 innings. Additionally, Berg allowed an opponents' batting average of .184, the lowest opposing average in the Pac-12. He also ranked seventh in the nation with his 18 saves.

He teamed up with Kevin Ziomek to become the third pitching duo in Vanderbilt history to each win 10 games in a season.

Evans had a team-leading eight game-winning RBIs, including a walk-off single in the 11th inning to beat North Carolina. On the mound, Evans went 1-2 with three saves and had a 3.44 ERA in 13 appearances.

In his first season for Cal State Fullerton, Thomas Eshelman posted an 11-2 record in 14 starts and had a Big West-leading 1.63 ERA in the regular season. Over 99 2/3 innings, Eshelman struck out 71 and walked just two batters. He did not issue a walk in his first 63 1/3 innings as a collegiate pitcher. He led the nation in walks allowed per nine innings (0.18), strikeout-to-walk-ratio (35.5) and WHIP (0.76). Eshelman was named Big West Pitcher of the Week on March 4 after the 6-foot-3 right-hander tossed the first complete game of his career, holding then-No. 14 Oregon to two runs on four hits in an 8-2 Titans victory. On Feb. 15, Eshelman became the first freshman to start a season opener for the Titans since 1987.

From March 6 to April 12, Bregman posted a 23-game hitting streak. During that span, he hit .495 with eight doubles, five triples, two homers and 24 RBIs. For the week of March 25, Bregman was named SEC Player of the Week after hitting .692.

In 2013, Eric Jagielo became the fourth player in Notre Dame history to earn Big East Player of the Year. Jagielo led the league in batting average (.392), slugging percentage (.640) and on-base percentage (.502) and finished tied for second in home runs (9), fifth in total bases (121), fifth in doubles (18), seventh in RBIs (51), eighth in walks (33), tied for eighth in runs scored (47) and tied for eighth in hits (74). Jagielo was held hitless in just seven of 54 games played this year and failed to reach base in a game just twice.

Gonzales fired a shutout against Arkansas on March 1 in Surprise, Arizona, scattering eight hits and striking out nine. Against Appalachian State, he allowed four hits while striking out 10 and walking two in another shutout. As a two-way player, Gonzales led the team in batting average (.311).

Aaron Nola was third in the Southeastern Conference in strikeouts (97), second in wins (10), fourth in opponents' batting average (.192) and fifth in innings pitched (95). He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week after firing his fourth straight complete-game victory and his second shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over Florida on May 3. He limited the Gators to four singles and a walk and struck out three. Previously, Nola fired his second consecutive complete game and first career shutout April 19, when he blanked Alabama, 5-0, in Tuscaloosa. Nola allowed just three singles while recording one walk and 10 strikeouts.

Cal State Fullerton starting center fielder and closer Michael Lorenzen was 18-for-21 in save attempts this season. His 18 saves in 2013 rank second in Fullerton single-season history. In two years on the mound, Lorenzen has totaled 34 saves, tying Chad Cordero and Nick Ramirez for first all time at Fullerton. In 21 appearances this season, Lorenzen tossed 22 innings, striking out 18 and managing a 2.05 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .210 clip. Lorenzen drove in the game-winning run for the Titans a team-leading seven times in 2013. At the plate, Lorenzen batted .335 and tied for the conference lead with 50 RBIs while managing a .534 slugging percentage with 40 runs scored, 69 hits, 12 doubles, four triples and a team-leading seven home runs. His 13-game hitting streak from March 15-April 2 was the longest for any Titan this season.

D.J. Peterson was named Mountain West Co-Player of the Year for the second straight season, as he again won the league's overall Triple Crown. Against UC Riverside in March, he recorded a hit in seven straight at-bats (four home runs, three singles) before being walked five times in a row, reaching base safely in 12 straight plate appearances. Against UNLV, he set a career high with eight RBIs as he went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and two home runs. Peterson is second all time at UNM in doubles (76), third in total bases (477), fourth in home runs (40) and slugging percentage (.689) and fifth in RBIs (194).

He posted his second career five-hit game vs. Belmont early in the season and led the Commodores with 28 multi-hit games, including a streak of seven straight multi-hit games to end the regular season.

Katz was named National and SEC Player of the Week twice in 2013, the first time coming March 18 after going 3-for-9 in the Mississippi State series with three homers, five RBIs and four runs scored. The second occurrence came on April 1 after he hit .611 with three home runs and 12 RBIs. In March, Katz hit a home run in five straight games, becoming the first LSU player to do so since 1998.

Petree became the second Missouri State pitcher in the 50-year history of the program to record four consecutive double-digit strikeout performances, and he was the first pitcher in school history to record back-to-back 100-strikeout seasons. Petree earned his second-straight First-Team All-MVC selection and All-MVC Defensive Team choice in 2013.

He allowed 14 runs -- seven earned -- on 54 hits and struck out 60 batters while holding conference opponents to a .203 batting average. After striking out seven in a complete game against South Carolina, Stanek was named SEC Pitcher of the Week.

Parr turned in the second-longest hitting streak in the NCAA in 2013 with a school-record mark of 33 games. He was named Big Ten Player of the Week for the week of April 8-14 after hitting for the cycle vs. Purdue, becoming first the Illini to accomplish the feat since 2009. Parr finished that game 4-for-5 with four RBIs and a career-high four runs.

As Delaware's first baseman, Yezzo committed just one error in 515 total chances. He posted a 12-game hitting streak (April 14-May 3) and two 11-game hitting streaks (Feb. 15-March 8; March 17-April 5).

He mowed down hitters often early in the season, logging a three-week stretch of 39 strikeouts over 25 innings, including back-to-back complete games vs. Illinois-Chicago and Oregon. Ziomek teamed up with Tyler Beede to become the third pitching duo in Vanderbilt history to each win 10 games in a season, joining Sonny Gray and Grayson Garvin (2011), and David Price and Casey Weathers (2007).
