Trevor Bauer, Collegiate Baseball's National Player of the Year, had a record breaking season in 2011. The Pac-10 Pitcher of the Year set the conference single-season record for strikeouts with 203, eclipsing the previous record (202) set by 2001 GSA winner Mark Prior (Southern California). Bauer went 13-2 for the Bruins, throwing 10 complete games (tied for first in UCLA single-season record history) over 136.2 innings pitched (seventh most in UCLA single-season records history). Bauer is the first GSA finalist from UCLA since Troy Glaus in 1997.

Taylor Jungmann solidified himself as one of the most dominant pitchers in Texas and Big 12 history with his performance in 2011. The junior was named Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and a First Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball/Louisville Slugger. This season he is 13-1 with a 1.40 ERA, 119 strikeouts, a .168 batting average against and five complete games in 128.1 innings pitched. Jungmann was also named to both the Big 12 All-First Team and All-Academic First Team. He is the first Longhorn finalist since Kyle Russell in 2007.

Danny Hultzen became the first-ever three-time All-American for the Virginia Cavaliers in 2011. The lefty has posted an 11-3 record on the mound with a 1.57 ERA, while striking out 148 batters. His impressive stats helped him become UVa's all-time career leader in wins (31) and strikeouts (378). The two-time ACC Pitcher of the Year is seventh in ACC history in career strikeouts and has been named First-Team All-ACC three consecutive years. Hultzen has also hit .336 for the season driving in 34 runs, including 10 doubles, two triples and a home run. Prior to Hultzen, the Cavaliers' last GSA finalist was Seth Greisinger in 1996.

Tyler Anderson holds the Oregon all-time record with 285 career strikeouts and this season set the Oregon single-season record with 114 strikeouts. He also holds the Oregon single-game record with 14 strikeouts vs. Long Beach State (March 4, 2011). He was selected in the 50th round of the 2008 Major League Baseball First-Year Draft out of Spring Valley High School (Las Vegas), and after three years as Oregon's Friday-night starter, is projected to be a first-round draft pick in 2011. In 2010, became the first Duck named to the Pac-10 All-Conference Team in 39 years, and he was tabbed a 2011 preseason All-American by three different publications.

Daniel Aldrich was named the 2011 Southern Conference Freshman of the Year by the Southern Conference Sports Media Association as well as being named to the All-Southern Conference First Team. The redshirt freshman led all Division I freshman in home runs (22), RBIs (72), slugging percentage (.794) as well as total bases (162). He had 25 multi-hit games on the season and had a team-best 17-game hitting streak in February and March.

In 2011, C.J. Cron became the first two-time Mountain West Conference Player of the Year. He was voted Player of the Year in 2010 and was also named Freshman of the Year in 2009. Following a 2010 All-American campaign, Cron was selected as a preseason All-American by NCBWA, College Baseball Lineup, Collegiate Baseball newspaper and Baseball America.

Grayson Garvin has been the model of consistency for Vanderbilt this year, going 11-1 with a 2.32 ERA which earned him the SEC Pitcher of the Year award as well as being named to the First Team All-SEC. He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week for an eight-inning performance at Arkansas when he allowed one run on two hits with six strikeouts. In his first start of the year, he tossed a career-best 8 1/3 innings, fanning a career-high 10 with no walks in a win at the University of San Diego.

He leads his team in wins (9), innings pitched (77.1) and strikeouts (70). The All-SEC player currently ranks second in the SEC in ERA and is tied for fifth in wins. Baxendale also has three saves on the season.

With 11 wins this season, Sam Gavilgio is tied for sixth-best in single-season school history and his 102 strikeouts is good for eighth. He is one of just 10 pitchers in school history to reach the century mark in strikeouts. After beginning the season by allowing two unearned runs in the first inning of the first game of the season, Gaviglio went 41 2/3 innings without allowing a run, the best stretch by a Pac-10 pitcher in more than three decades. He was just 1 1/3 innings shy of tying the NCAA's single-season record. Gaviglio was named the Pac-10 Pitcher of the Week twice. He has 24 career wins -- tied for ninth in school history -- and has tallied a 3.15 ERA and 202 strikeouts in 231 2/3 innings. Gaviglio is tied for seventh in school history with three career shutouts.

He leads his team in innings pitched (106.1) as well as strikeouts (116).

In 2011, Sonny Gray earned All-SEC accolades for the third time in his career while also being named to the SEC All-Defensive team. He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week for his Week 3 performance against Brown where he tossed his second career complete game and struck out a career-best 15 with no walks. Gray has a 2.17 ERA with a 9-3 record and 105 strikeouts in only 95.1 innings of work. In summer 2010, he won a silver medal while competing with USA Baseball's Collegiate National Team.

Combined with his 2010 no-hitter, he has proven himself as one of the best Bulldog pitchers ever. This season he has an ERA of 1.44 with 118 strikeouts in 93 2/3 innings pitched with only 24 walks.

Jake Lowery was selected as the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year and also headlines the First-Team All CAA. Lowery set several JMU records this year with RBIs (81) and extra-base hits (49), doubles (19), home runs (22) and a record-tying eight triples. The junior catcher is second in James Madison history for runs in a season (72), total bases (178) and slugging percentage (.805). He is batting .357 for this season.

Outfielder Mikie Mahtook has put together an impressive offensive season in the SEC. The junior earned First-Team All-SEC honors after a regular season that saw him lead the SEC in triples (5), slugging percentage (.709), walks (41) and steals (29). Mahtook also stands second in the SEC in batting average (.383), home runs (14), total bases (139), on-base percentage (.496) and runs scored (61), and third in the league in RBIs with 56. Mahtook has also established an amazing 70 consecutive games reached-base streak -- having reached base safely in all 56 games this season and in the final 14 games of 2010.

Senior outfielder Jason Krizan has left his mark on college baseball. The Dallas Baptist outfielder slugged his 37th double of the season in the Patriots' 51st game to establish a new NCAA record. Krizan broke the record of big leaguer and former LSU Tiger Brad Hawpe, who hit 36 doubles in 2000. Krizan went on a 39-game hitting streak (11th longest in NCAA history) and finished the season No. 1 nationally in doubles (37) and hits (97), third nationally in RBIs (76) and total bases (166), seventh nationally in average (.431), and ninth nationally in runs (63).

Brad Miller leads the ACC in both batting average (.431) and on-base percentage (.536). The 2011 ACC Player of the Year was also named to the first team All-ACC as the shortstop. In 2010, Miller was named to the All-ACC Academic Team as well as the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

Chris O'Brien has raked in the honors as the Shockers backstop. He was named the Joe Carter Missouri Valley Conference Player of the Year, first-team All-Valley at catcher, one of 13 semifinalists for the Johnny Bench Award and one of 36 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Award. O'Brien hit .412 with 49 runs, nine home runs and 63 RBIs. O'Brien finished the year on a 29-game hitting streak (fifth best in Shockers history), he hit in 55 of 65 total games, and he caught 546 2/3 of the 579 2/3 total innings on the season.

St. John's shortstop Joe Panik was named to the All-Big East First-Team after leading the Red Storm in batting average (.396), runs (53), home runs (9), RBIs (53), triples (3), slugging percentage (.650), on-base percentage (.506) and stolen bases (17). Those impressive numbers put him in the top 10 in nearly every offensive category in the BIG EAST: on-base percentage (first), average (tied for first), slugging percentage (second), runs (tied for second), total bases (tied for second), RBI (fourth), walks (tied for fourth), home runs (tied for fifth), doubles (tied for seventh), stolen bases (eighth) and triples (tied for 10th). Panik also led the Big East, and ranked 14th nationally, in on-base percentage. Panik carries a 3.78 GPA in finance; he was named third-team Academic All-American.

This year Mark Pope ran a streak of 30 consecutive scoreless innings which spanned over five games from Feb. 18 to March 18. He also pitched 36 2/3 straight innings without allowing an earned run. Throwing three complete games this year helped him acquire National Player of the Week honors twice while also being named 2011 First-Team All ACC. He finished off the regular season with an 11-3 record and a 1.54 ERA while striking out 85 and only allowing 21 walks.

He has also been getting it done from the mound with a 1.12 ERA and 31 strikeouts in 24 innings pitched. His 16 saves are tops on the team, and the junior is holding opponents to a .154 batting average against. As one of the top two-way players in the nation, Ramirez is on the NCBWA's Stopper of the Year Watch List and on the College Baseball Foundation's John Olerud Two-Way Player of the Year Watch List.

The reigning National Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and Baseball America, junior Anthony Rendon has become one of the most respected hitters in college baseball. Rendon has been walked 78 times in just 70 games this season including 22 intentional walks. The respect has limited his pitches to hit, but the slugger managed to hit .323 with five home runs, 33 RBIs and 53 runs. Rendon is a three-time first-team All-Conference USA, including two-time conference Player of the Year, and is now a three-time Golden Spikes Award semifinalist.

Aside from being named first-team All-Conference, SoCon Player of the Year and Golden Spikes Award semifinalist, Roache was also named one of the 36 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Award. Off the field Roache was named to GSU's Dean's List.

The three-time Big 12 Pitcher of the Week, twice in 2011, ranks third all-time at Oklahoma with 27 career wins and sixth with 75 appearances.

He leads the team in runs, home runs and RBIs heading into the postseason. Springer was named Big East Player of the Week twice during the 2011 campaign. He now owns Huskies career records for runs scored and home runs with 46.

As the 2011 team captain, Michael Roth earned first team All-SEC honors as well as first team All-Academic honors. Posting a 10-3 regular-season record with a 1.28 ERA in 98.2 innings pitched helped him become a quarterfinalist for National Pitcher of the Year by the College Baseball Hall of Fame. Roth threw a complete game without giving up an earned run against Auburn in the SEC tournament to advance to the SEC championship game.

Walker became the first JU player since 2007 to win Player of the Year and led the conference in batting average and doubles (22). He was also named one of 36 semifinalists for the Dick Howser Award.

Kyle Winkler, the 2011 All-MWC member, finished the conference season with a 4-1 record and a 1.89 ERA, and an overall 8-2 record and a 1.40 ERA in 90 innings pitched. Winkler was named National Player of the Week by Collegiate Baseball and MWC Pitcher of the Week on April 4 for striking out 15 batters in seven innings of work against the Air Force. He has been named MWC Player of the Week five times in his three years with TCU. In the summer of 2010, Winkler played with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.

Chad Zurcher became the first Tiger to win the Conference USA Player of the Year award after a season that saw him lead the nation in batting average with a conference record .455 batting average. He also sports an NCAA-best .560 on-base percentage thanks to 86 hits, 33 walks and 16 hit-by-pitches. Zurcher has also blasted 18 doubles on the season while scoring 45 runs, 33 RBIs and stealing 12 bases to pace the memphis lineup. During the regular season, Zurcher recorded 28 multi-hit games.

The sophomore backstop from the University of Florida became just the second Gator in school history to win the SEC Player of the Year award (Matt LaPorta, Cleveland Indians, '05 and '07) after a season where he hit .383 with 15 home runs, 62 runs scored and 59 RBIs. Zunino also has handled a record-breaking UF pitching staff, committing just one error in 462 chances (.998 fielding percentage). He also has thrown out 10 would-be base stealers in 35 attempts.
