Tony Kemp led the Southeastern Conference in hitting with a .407 average and also led the league in on-base percentage (.490), runs (60) and stolen bases (29). Kemp became Vanderbilt's all-time career leader in triples and later matched the SEC career mark with his 21st triple. He posted his second career five-hit game vs. Belmont early in the season and led the Commodores with 28 multi-hit games, including a streak of seven straight multi-hit games to end the regular season.
