Texas A&M's John Doxakis was named NCBWA National Pitcher of the Month for February. Twice in 2019 the southpaw has fanned 12 without walking a batter (vs. Fordham and vs. Baylor). He became the 18th Aggie to reach the 200-strikeout mark in his career, and now ranks No. 13 on the all-time list. Doxakis earned All-Tournament at the Shriners Hospitals for Children College Classic after holding then-No. 18 Baylor to one run on four hits while striking out 12 over eight innings. He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week and earned Golden Spikes Award Performance of the Week following his season-opening effort against Fordham, in which he yielded just one hit while striking out a career-high 12 in seven innings. Doxakis built momentum off a summer in which made three starts with the USA Baseball Collegiate National Team.
