He has won his last seven decisions and thrown at least five innings in all but one start this season.
Middleton allowed more than one run in an outing only five times in 14 starts, and opened the year by not giving up an earned run over his first three starts, spanning 15 innings. Through games on May 17, he ranks second nationally in WHIP (0.83), fifth in ERA, third in hits allowed per nine innings (5.17), 12th in victories, 11th in games started and No. 15 in strikeouts. He has fanned at least 10 batters in a game four times in 2025 with a career-best 12 done twice, against South Alabama and Georgia State. He also has one complete game coming against Appalachian State.
