LSU sophomore Kade Anderson is No. 2 in the nation and SEC this season with 133 strikeouts, more than doubling his 2024 mark.
Anderson was named SEC Co-Pitcher of the Week on April 7 after he fired a complete-game shutout on April 3 in LSU’s 2-0 win over No. 9 Oklahoma. Anderson, whose longest career outing was 6.1 innings, limited Oklahoma to five hits in nine innings while recording two walks and a career-best 14 strikeouts. He retired 12 Oklahoma batters in a row to complete the outing. Anderson’s effort was the first complete-game shutout by an LSU pitcher since 2018.
Anderson posted a win over Texas on March 21, working six innings and limiting the Longhorns to two runs on seven hits with no walks and eight strikeouts. He threw a career-high 101 pitches in the outing, 71 for strikes, and retired 10 of the final 13 batters that he faced in the victory.
