Florida ace Aidan King, the 2026 SEC Pitcher of the Year, ranks second in the conference with a 2.50 ERA and first in the SEC with a 0.94 WHIP. He also ranks fifth in the SEC in wins (eight), seventh in strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.25), fifth in innings pitched (79 1/3) and third in walks per nine (1.82), while his .199 batting average against is in line to be the lowest by a Gator since 2011 (Nick Maronde: .178).
King has thrown a team-high eight quality starts this season including six in SEC play, having going 6.0-plus innings in six of his last seven SEC starts. As a result, King is second in the league with 62 innings and 6.2 innings per start in SEC play, where he sits first in WHIP (0.89), third in ERA (3.19), eighth in strikeouts (67) and second in batting average against (.184).
During a recent streak of five straight outings with a quality start, King went 4-0 with a 1.51 ERA in 35 2/3 frames to lower his season ERA to a then-1.73 - which would be the best by a Gator since Michael Byrne in 2017 (1.67). Across his last 19 starts dating back to last season, King is 12-3 with a 1.91 ERA and 112-to-26 strikeout-to-walk ratio in 118 innings pitched (25 earned runs allowed).
