Cade Townsend has put together one of the best sophomore seasons in Ole Miss history in 2026. He is currently ranked 11th in the SEC in ERA (3.25) and top five in WHIP (1.02), strikeout-to-walk ratio (5.5) and strikeouts per nine innings (12.52), while also holding opponents to a batting average of .202.
From April 4-18, Townsend became the first Rebel since 2022 to put together three quality starts in a row, allowing just three earned runs during that time. He was named SEC Pitcher of the Week after throwing six shutout innings in a win over Tennessee in Knoxville. Townsend was the first Ole Miss pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Week since 2021.
