Georgia’s Daniel Jackson is making history as a catcher with 20-plus home runs and 20-plus stolen bases while aiming to become the first catcher and just third player in SEC history to capture the Triple Crown. In records dating to 2018, there has not been an NCAA Division I catcher who has had a 20-20 season until Jackson. He’s the first catcher in the SEC and just fifth overall player to post a 20-20 campaign.
Jackson ranks among the national leaders in several categories with a .384 batting average, 25 home runs and 74 RBI while going 24-for-25 in stolen bases. He has made 42 starts at catcher with a .995 fielding percentage for the fourth-ranked and SEC-leading Bulldogs. An SEC Academic Honor Roll student, he received the 2025 Cape Cod League’s Daniel J. Silva Sportsmanship Award plus was named an All-Star and to the All-League Team while playing for Chatham. Jackson spent his freshman season at Wofford before transferring to Georgia in 2025.
