A National Pitcher of the Year candidate, Dylan Volantis has become a household name in the sport.
As of May 11, Volantis leads all active Division I hurlers (min. 75 inn.) in career ERA, notching a 2.05 mark. Across 35 outings, including 11 starts, Volantis has registered an 11-2 ledger and 12 saves. As a full-time starter in 2026, the sophomore has mounted a 7-1 record and a 2.13 ERA, which paces all SEC hurlers. The 6-foot-6, 220-pound left-hander also ranks fifth in the SEC with strikeouts (94), tied for sixth in WHIP (1.05) and 10th in strikeout-to-walk ratio (4.48).
Last season, Volantis garnered Baseball America National Freshman of the Year distinction. He became the fourth player to earn the prestigious honor in program history, joining Greg Swindell (1984), Kirk Dressendorfer (1988) and Brooks Kieschnick (1991). A consensus All-American, Volantis led all rookies in WHIP (0.88) and saves (12), while finishing second in ERA (1.94) and B/AVG (.185).
