Landon Hairston has put together one of the most prolific offensive campaigns in recent Division I memory, with a power surge that has seen him elevate to the highest of highs in Arizona State’s illustrious history.
Hairston’s 27 homers are tied for the most in ASU single-season history with the 2000 record set by Mitch Jones. He’s led the nation in slugging percentage and extra-base hits for the vast majority of the season and is on pace to crush ASU’s school record for single-season slugging with his .911 mark. His 49 extra-base hits remain four more than any player in the nation. What is most impressive about his campaign is he has batted every game from the leadoff position, making his 77 RBI out of that spot the most by any D1 player since at least the 2019 season.
Hairston was voted the National Hitter of the Month for his torrential April campaign, was recently named D1Baseball’s top outfielder in college baseball and earned Big 12 Player of the Year honors on May 19.
