Cary, N.C. - Game on Roundtrip dominated both on the mound and at the plate against the Carolina Rebels at the 2018 USA Baseball 14U Cup on Saturday in Cary, North Carolina. 
Thomas Ponder was the starter for Game on Roundtrip and he was electric. Ponder was baffling Carolina Rebels all afternoon on his way to a complete game, one hit shutout. He allowed just four walks and struck out two over five frames of work. He needed just 77 pitches. 
Ponder was backed up by a solid defense behind him. In the third inning, third baseman Lane Quigley made a spectacular play to cut down the Carolina Rebels baserunner sliding into home. 
Game on Roundtrip were just as impressive from the other side of the ball. They put a run on the board in the bottom of the first inning and they would go on to score in all but one inning after that, including six runs in each of the final two innings of the ballgame. 
Offensively, Game on Roundtrip was led by Justin Thomas and Jamie Felix. The pair combined to go 4-5 at the plate with three RBI and three runs scored. The rest of the lineup combined for another three hits and in total Game on Roundtrip scored 13 runs.
Game on Roundtrip are 1-1 so far at the 14U Cup and their next game will be played Saturday night against the East Coast Clippers.
