PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico - The 2019 15U National Team scored 12 runs on nine hits, including four with two outs, to come from behind and defeat the Dominican Republic 12-6 for its fourth win of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier on Monday at Unidad Deportivo Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen, Mexico.
The stars and stripes were led at the plate by Termarr Johnson (Atlanta, Ga.), who went 3-for-3 with four runs scored. Additionally, Karson Bowen (Anaheim Hills, Calif.) had a solid day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored. Four other members of Team USA collected hits, including Mikey Romero (Menifee, Calif.), Aidan Miller (Trinity, Ga.), Joe Brown (Petaluma, Calif.) and Steven Milam (Las Cruces, N.M.).
Brandon Olivera (Hialeah, Fla.) started on the mound for Team USA and threw 1.1 innings, allowing four hits and six runs (one earned) while striking out three. Logan Saloman (Chandler, Ariz.) came into the game in relief and earned the win after 5.2 innings of work in which he scattered four hits and struck out eight. The Dominican's Xavier Peralta, who allowed four runs on five hits in 2.1 innings, was tagged with the loss.

• Team USA jumped out to an early lead in the contest after Johnson scored on a Romero groundout to make it 1-0 in the top of the first inning.
• Milam and Kai Caranto (Santa Clarita, Calif.) scored on a pair of errors and Johnson crossed the plate on a wild pitch in the top of the third to give Team USA a 4-0 lead.
• The Dominican Republic used back-to-back-back RBI-singles in the bottom of the second to tie the game at 4-4.
• The Dominican Republic took the lead in the bottom of the second when a passed ball and a groundout allowed two runs to score, making it 6-4.
• A Johnson RBI-single and Romero sac-fly tied the game at 6-6 in the top of the third inning.
• Bowen sent a two-RBI double through the left side to take back the lead for the U.S. in the top of the fifth inning, 8-6.
• Romero knocked a single through right side to extend the red, white and blue's lead to 9-6 in the top of the fifth inning.
• Dylan Lina (Carson, Calif.) grounded into a fielder's choice that allowed two runs to score and extended Team USA's lead to 11-6 in the top of the sixth inning.
• Bowen scored the final run for Team USA on a passed ball in the top of the seventh and Saloman collected all three outs from the mound in the bottom frame to give the U.S. a 12-6 win.
