Brave Secures Win While Eagles, United Tie on Day Two of 15U National Team Trials Phase I

CARY, N.C. - Eagles and United battled back-and-forth on the second day of the USA Baseball 15U National Team Trials Phase I, with the game ultimately ending in a 4-4 tie after seven innings of play at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
Dean West started the scoring on the day with an RBI single back up the middle, driving in two and putting United out to an early 2-0 lead in the second. 
Eagles answered back in the fourth as their first seven batters of the inning reached base safely, helping them to score four runs on two hits and three walks and putting them up 4-2.
Louis Rodriguez started on the mound for United, throwing three scoreless innings and allowing just one base hit while striking out four. Demitri Diamant followed out of the bullpen, throwing three scoreless innings while allowing no baserunners and striking out five.
United tied the game at four in the fifth inning as Owen Egan drove in Damian Ruiz with a base hit to right field and came around to score two batters later. After seven innings of play, the game ended with a 4-4 draw. 
The USA Baseball 15U National Team Phase I Trials continues with two games Sunday afternoon at the USA Baseball National Training Complex.

CARY, N.C. - Brave capitalized on a combined seven hits from David Lozano and Oscar Hernadez-Gonzalez Saturday afternoon to defeat Pride 9-5 on the second day of the USA Baseball 15U National Team Phase I Trials. 
The first run of the game came in the top of the first as Hernandez-Gonzales singled to right, driving in Mason Neville and putting Brave out to an early 1-0 lead. 
Pride scored two runs in the bottom of the second to take the 2-1 lead, but Brave quickly answered back with runs in the second, third, and fourth innings to go up 9-2. 
Brave were led offensively by David Lozano, Mikey Romero, and Hernandez-Gonzalez. The trio combined to go 10-for-12 with three RBIs and four runs scored. 
Pride carved away at the lead, scoring two runs in the fourth in one in the seventh to bring the score to 9-5, but their comeback efforts would fall short there and Brave secured the 9-5 win.

Key Moments:
• Oscar Hernandez-Gonzales singled to right in the top of the first, driving in Mason Neville for the first run of the ballgame and putting Brave out to an early 1-0 lead.
• Mikey Romero hit an RBI single back up the middle in the second to bring in Benjamin Reiland and extend the Brave lead to 2-0.
• Joseph Brown scored on a wild pitch in the second to get Pride on the board and was followed with a Luis Martinez RBI single up the middle to tie the game at two.
• Brave capitalized on three hits and two errors in the third to score three runs and jump out to a 5-2 lead.
• Benjamin Reiland and Mikey Romero began the fourth inning with back-to-back base hits and both came around to score to extend the Brave lead to 7-2.
• In total, Brave accumulated four runs on five hits in the fourth inning, bringing the score to 9-2.
• Pride battled back with two runs of their own in the bottom of the fourth as Angel Cepeda hit a ball to deep left field, driving in a pair and cutting the Pride deficit to 9-4.
• Pride scored another run in the bottom of the seventh as Termarr Johnson scored on a Christopher Paciolla sacrifice-fly, but the Pride comeback would stop there and Brave came away the victors by a score of 9-5.
Notable Information:
• David Lozano and Oscar Hernandez-Gonzales both had perfect days at the plate as Lozano went 4-for-4 with a run scored and Hernadez-Gonzalez went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
• Mikey Romero went 3-for-5 on the day, bringing his batting average at the 15U National Team Trials to .571.
• The game was played as a modified scrimmage with runners, batting order and outs changed with coaches' decisions.
