From high school to the pros, USA Baseball alumni were all over the baseball landscape in 2025. Team USA members provided the heartbeat for America's pastime through many crucial plays and fantastic outings. Week of April 28

Professional (May 1-7)

There was no shortage of runs in the Chicago Cubs’ 10-0 win over the Milwaukee Brewers on May 2 thanks in large part to four-time USA Baseball alum Pete Crow-Armstrong (2014 12U, 2017 15U, 2018 & 2019 18U). The Sherman Oaks, Calif., product went 2-for-5 at the dish and took full advantage of his opportunities by producing two homers. With the two bombs, Crow-Armstrong moved his total to nine home runs which sits tied for fourth in the Major League rankings.

Hunter Greene (2014 15U, 2015 & 2016 18U) compiled a season-high 12 strikeouts in the Cincinnati Reds’ 6-1 victory over Washington on May 2. Greene’s outing lasted six frames that resulted in the Nationals recording a run on mere two hits. Greene was particularly strong in the second and third frame where he tallied five punchouts in a row. On the season, Greene owns a 2.36 ERA which is on pace to be the best mark of his career.

Two-time USA Baseball alum Bailey Falter (2011 14U, 2012 15U) was a force on the mound for the Pittsburgh Pirates in their matchup against the Padres on May 3. The lefty went seven innings on the bump, yielding a single run while punching out a season-high six batters. Falter, a product of Chino Hills, Calif., yielded a bare two hits, which serves as his lowest mark in 2025.

Robbie Ray (2009 18U) was firing on all cylinders on May 2 against the Rockies. The Giants’ southpaw tossed seven shutout innings, striking out eight and allowing just two hits to earn his fourth win of the season. Ray yielded an infield single in the fourth and then faced his only true trouble of the day in the sixth, stranding runners on the corners to maintain his shutout. Ray finished the outing with a perfect seventh inning, lowering his season ERA to 3.05.

Braden Montgomery (2023 CNT) has been on a hot streak all year long at the plate. The White Sox prospect is batting .323 with 28 RBIs and a .998 OPS in the minors and has had success with his powerful presence at the dish. As a member of the High-A Winston-Salem Dash, Montgomery has crushed three homers in two games including a walk-off three-run shot in the Dash’s May 7th contest.

College/Prep (April 28-May 4)

Samuel Dutton (2018 15U) and No. 5 Auburn enjoyed a 6-1 victory over No. 7 Tennessee on Saturday in game one of the series. Dutton provided Auburn with his sixth quality start of the season after pitching 6.2 frames of one-run baseball. He finished his day with eight strikeouts to earn his sixth win in 2025.

Georgia Tech nabbed a 13-0 run-rule victory over Western Carolina on May 4 thanks in large part to two-time USA Baseball alum Drew Burress (2012 15U, 2024 CNT). The force was with Burress throughout the contest at the plate, seeing him crank two homers throughout the contest. With the pair of home runs, Burress collected three RBIs while also scoring himself on two occasions. The sophomore slugger currently sits 17 homers away from a Georgia Tech record set from 1991-1994 and is the only underclassman in Division I baseball with 40+ career homers.

Rawley Hector (2019 18U National Team) tossed a gem on Saturday for UT-Tyler, allowing just one hit in seven innings in a win over Texas A&M-Kingsville. Hector retired the first 16 batters he faced before yielding just one unearned run in the sixth inning, needing just 75 pitches to finish his seven frames of work. The right-hander owns a 2.80 ERA through 13 starts in 2025, posting an 8-1 record with 72 strikeouts to just 17 walks.

Vanderbilt picked up a run-rule win over Alabama on Friday and 2021 18U National Team alum RJ Austin was in the middle of all the offense. Austin went 4-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs, two runs scored, and eight total bases in the 12-2 victory. He doubled in his first at-bat in the opening inning before leading off the sixth with a single and scoring the game’s first run. After another single in the seventh to drive in a run, Austin finished his big day with a three-run blast over the wall in left field, his second long ball of the season.

LSU’s Anthony Eyanson (2024 CNT) tossed a complete-game three hitter on May 3 against Texas A&M. He limited the Aggies to just one run on three hits in 9.0 innings with one walk and 14 strikeouts, and he allowed only one Texas A&M hitter to advance beyond second base. He retired the first nine Texas A&M batters in order, he did not allow a hit until the fifth inning, and he retired seven of the last eight Aggies he faced to complete the outing. He threw a total of 112 pitches, including 80 pitches for strikes.

Daniel Cuvet (2024 CNT) went 5-for-6 with eight RBIs in a rain-shortened series sweep against NC State over the weekend. He scored two runs apiece in the two games and hit back-to- back homers in the series opener to set the tone for the Hurricanes.

Kyson Witherspoon (2024 CNT) tossed seven shutout innings in Oklahoma’s 2-0 series-opening win over Ole Miss. He yielded just one hit and struck out eight batters in the effort to improve to 9-2 on the year.

Week of April 21

Professional (April 25-30)

Two-time Team USA alum Shane Baz spun a gem on Friday against the powerhouse San Diego Padres. The right-hander tossed seven shutout innings on the road in San Diego, scattering just four hits and striking out six while walking just one. It was Baz’s second effort of at least six innings and no runs allowed in 2025; the former 18U National Team player and Olympian owns a 2.25 ERA through his first six starts this season.

Olympian Joe Ryan matched his former U.S. teammate Baz’s performance a couple of days later, also tossing seven shutout innings in a win over the Los Angeles Angels. Ryan, making his sixth start of the 2025 campaign, struck out eleven batters and allowed just four hits in the shutout victory–his second time pitching seven scoreless innings this season. Ryan is now 2-2 with a 3.18 ERA in his fifth big-league season.

18U National Team alum and Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene had a very productive week at the plate, helping his Club pick up four wins. Greene smashed a home run and drove in three runs in the second game of a doubleheader sweep against Baltimore on April 26 before a monster game against Houston on April 28, when he went 2-for-4 with two homers and three RBIs. Greene capped off the hot stretch with a four-hit game on April 30. From April 26-30, Greene hit .391 with a 1.243 OPS, scoring five runs and driving in six.

St. Louis’ Masyn Winn (2014 12U, 2017 15U) played a crucial role in the Cardinals 6-0 victory over the Reds on April 30. Winn mashed two homers in the contest, marking the first multi-homer game of his career. The young star also drew two walks and stole a base in the victory. With the dazzling performance at the plate, the Katy, Texas product increased his batting average to .260 in his third major-league campaign.

Mark Vientos (2014 15U) was dominant throughout the week at the dish for the New York Mets, batting .300 and guiding his side to three wins from April 26-30. Vientos was a key piece in the Mets’ 19-5 blowout win over the Nationals on April 28. In the contest, he went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs, two walks and four runs scored. Vientos rounded out the night with a three-run blast to center field, marking his fourth homer of the season.

Paul Skenes (2014 12U, 2021 & 2022 CNT) took the mound in Los Angeles and dazzled in his homecoming game. In his return to California, Skenes mounted his fourth quality start in only his fifth appearance of the year. The three-time Team USA alum hurled 6.1 shutout innings against a loaded Dodger lineup to propel Pittsburgh to a 3-0 victory on April 25. Skenes allowed only five hits, struck out nine, and refused to walk a batter en route to lowering his season ERA to 2.39.

College/Prep (April 21-27)

Nolan Schubart (2019 15U, 2024 CNT) and the Oklahoma State Cowboys put on a show at the plate in a seven-inning 16-4 run-rule victory over No. 22 Dallas Baptist. Schubart led the charge at the plate, mashing two of the Cowboys’ six homers in the contest. With the two home runs, Schubart became the ninth player in program history to hit 50 home runs. Alongside the pair of homers, Schubart registered three RBIs and runs scored respectively.

Huntington Beach High School’s Jared Grindlinger (2021 12U, 2024 15U) has been going nuclear in his sophomore season with the Oilers. Grindlinger, the top prospect in his class, mashed a walk-off homer to dead center field on April 22 to provide his squad a 4-2 win. Currently sitting at a 19-3 overall record on the season, Grindlinger has helped Huntington Beach on both sides of the plate. He leads his team with a 0.90 ERA while batting .333 with 11 RBIs in 2025.

2022 18U National Team alumni Derek Curiel came to play in Sunday’s series finale against Tennessee. The freshman carried LSU to a win in the rubber game, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, a home run, and five RBIs. Curiel homered to lead off the first inning, following with an RBI double in the second, and then had two more RBI hits in the fourth and fifth to cap off his huge day at the plate. A true freshman, Curiel carries a team-leading .373 batting average into the final few weeks of the regular season.

Camden Kozeal (2022 18U) continued his hot stretch for Arkansas this past weekend against Florida. Kozeal picked up five hits in the three-game series including a pair of home runs, driving in five runs total for the weekend. Kozeal homered in each of the first two games before notching a double in the finale, accumulating 11 total bases across the three-game set. Kozeal is batting .365 with a 1.060 OPS through 41 games in 2025.

San Diego State’s standout freshman, Daniel Arambula (2017 12U; 2022 18U) took it to three teams this past week, gathering hits against San Diego, Cal State Fullerton, and UNLV. Arambula collected five RBIs on six hits on the week, four of which being extra-base hits. The two-time USA alum had two multi-hit outings for the Aztecs, including a 2-for-4, two-RBI day on April 25 against UNLV. Arambula’s consistency at the plate lands him second on the team in batting average (.304) and RBIs (30).

Dominic Voegele (2024 CNT) tossed 8.2 shutout innings at Utah on April 25th, marking his longest outing of his career. He yielded six hits, struck out five batters, and did not issue a walk in Kansas’ 2-0 win over the Utes.

Week of April 14

Professional (April 18-23)

Two-time USA Baseball alum Carson Kelly (2010 16, 2011 18U) helped propel the Cubs to a 13-11 win over the Diamondbacks after crushing two homers on April 18. Kelly started his outing in a hurry with his first home run occurring in the bottom of the second frame. His other out-of-the-park bomb came in the bottom of the eighth inning as a part of six-run outburst for Chicago. Kelly finished the night with a game-high five RBIs and three runs scored.

Pete Alonso (2023 WBC) has been red-hot for the New York Mets, picking up at least one hit in six consecutive games to help the Mets win their last six contests. The Polar Bear hit a triple and drew two walks on April 18 before socking his sixth homer of the year as part of a two-hit contest on April 19. Alonso hit a game-tying double on April 23 and finished the six-game stretch with a .333 batting average along with a 1.191 OPS.

Hunter Barco (2021 CNT) has made four appearances in the 2025 season with the Altoona Curve and has not allowed a run in 17.2 innings pitched. In his most recent outing, he fanned a season-high eight batters in 4.2 innings on April 22 against the Chesapeake Baysox.

Corbin Carroll (2018 18U) put together a huge week for the Arizona Diamondbacks, continuing his strong start to the 2025 campaign. Carroll notched multiple hits in three contests, including a two-hit game on April 18 and a 3-for-4 showing with a home run on April 19. Carroll put a bow on the strong stretch with two home runs on April 23 against Tampa Bay, driving in three runs and also drawing a walk.

Dylan Crews (2021 & 2022 CNT) is currently on an eight-game hit streak, which is highlighted by a 3-for-5 outing at the plate in Washington’s win over the Rockies on April 19. He homered twice, tallied four RBIs and scored four runs in his outing.

Pete Crow-Armstrong (2014 12U, 2017 15U, 2018 & 2019 18U) has been on a tear as of late, recently picking up back-to-back three-hit performances against the reigning World Series champions Los Angeles Dodgers. The four-time Team USA alum homered in both games while picking up three RBIs in game one and driving in four runs in the second game of the two-game series. Since April 18, Crow-Armstrong is 9-for-21 with six runs scored and three stolen bags. His 2025 campaign is off to a stellar start, as Crow-Armstrong currently boasts a 1.8 WAR, trailing just Aaron Judge and Corbin Carroll on the league-wide WAR leaderboard.

Max Meyer (2018 & 2019 CNT) struck out 14 batters in six shutout innings of work on April 21 helping Miami earn a 6-3 win over Cincinnati. He has gone at least six innings in all four starts this season, as his 14 K’s marked a career high and the most in game one by any pitcher this year.

Carlos Rodon (2012 & 2013 CNT) dominated on the mound twice within a five-day span. On April 18 at Tampa Bay, he tossed 6.0 shutout innings and then surrendered one unearned run in 7.0 innings on April 23 at Cleveland. Across the 13 innings he allowed just six hits and six walks, and struck out 17 batters.

Two-time Team USA alum Kyle Tucker has been putting up MVP numbers for the first month of the season for the Chicago Cubs. From April 18-23, Tucker batted .368 with two home runs and six RBIs, good for a 1.373 OPS. Tucker homered as part of a three-hit game on April 18, followed by a two-hit performance on April 19. The outfielder picked up three hits again on April 22, including a home run, two RBIs, and two stolen bases.

College/Prep (April 14-20)

After taking home Second Team All-ACC honors and being named to the ACC’s All-Tournament Team a year ago in his freshman campaign, Daniel Cuvet (2024 CNT) has seamlessly carried over his success into his sophomore season. The 6-foot-4 infielder powered Miami’s offense with a .333 batting average and six RBIs through four games to extend the Hurricane’s win streak to six games. In the series, Cuvet was also able to mash his eighth and ninth homer of the year which currently leads his squad.

Duke’s Kyle Johnson (2024 CNT) was immaculate on the mound for the Blue Devils in their win over 8-4 App State on April 15. Through two innings, Johnson put up a spotless line, keeping the Mountaineers from registering a hit or a walk. The sophomore was also able to punch out three batters, taking his total to 25 on the year.

While Johnson mitigated opposing offenses, it was AJ Gracia (2024 CNT) who controlled things at the plate for Duke. Throughout a four-game winning streak, Gracia swatted six RBIs via two doubles and a homer. The Monroe, New Jersey native batted .462 in the same span to help Duke complete a series sweep over Pitt.

Jake Brown (2022 18U) had a big two games for LSU against Alabama. He picked up an RBI and scored twice on Thursday before a huge game on Saturday. Despite LSU dropping the series finale, Brown went 2-for-2 with a home run and a triple, driving in three runs while collecting a season-high seven total bases.

Three-time Team USA alum Michael Torres played a key role in Miami’s three-game sweep of Georgia Tech. The outfielder had two hits in the series opener on Friday, and after drawing a walk on Saturday, Torres socked his first-career home run and drove in three runs to knock off the Yellow Jackets.

The Oregon Ducks picked up its third consecutive series win while Mason Neville shattered the single-season program record for home runs this past weekend in Eugene. The 2016 12U alum is only picking up steam as the season progresses, logging a 7-for-14, eight RBI, four runs scored week in games against Georgetown and UCLA. Neville also launched three homers over the past seven days en route to notching his 19th long ball of the season, a new single-season program record. His week was highlighted by a 2-for-3, four RBI performance against Georgetown, and a 3-for-4, three RBI performance in the rubber match versus UCLA. Neville is currently batting a team-best .338 and is the NCAA DI leader in home runs.
