3D Gold Pitching Staves Off Bombers Baseball Club of Southern California in 5-1 Win

GOODYEAR, Ariz - The pitching staff for 3D Gold took care of business on the mound, allowing just one run on four hits in the teams 5-1 win over Bombers Baseball Club of Southern California Tuesday afternoon at the Goodyear Sports Complex in Goodyear, Arizona. 
Both defenses held strong to start the game with the first two frames going three up, three down and the next seeing just three runners between the teams. 
3D Gold put a run across first in the top of the third when Nelson singled on a fly ball to center and scored on a single to left off the bat of W Shelor. The team scored again in the fourth to make it 2-0 before Bombers cut the deficit in half in the bottom frame. 
A Vasquez hit a line drive single to right and scored the Bombers only run when and error in left allowed him to cross the plate. 3D extended the lead in fifth with two runs scored on a double and a single. 
The game was finalized in the seventh when and error put J Kalemera on base and a double pushed him across to make it 5-1 in favor of 3D Gold. 
Joey Tonnotti stood out on the mound for 3D Gold. He tossed seven strikeouts and didn't walk a single batter in 3.2 innings of work.
Both teams await seeding for the final round of pool plat that begins Wednesday at 7 a.m. (MST).
