
CARY, N.C. -Pacific Baseball Academy used a four-run first inning to power past the Parker Jets, 6-1, on the first day of the 2019 10U Futures Invitational at Thomas Brooks Park.
Pacific Baseball Academy's starting pitcher Jet Adams earned the win on the mound after allowing just one run on two hits while striking out two in 4.1 innings. Trevor Chang held the Parker Jets scoreless and allowed just one hit in his 1.2 innings of relief. Parker Jets starting pitcher Wilson Shaw suffered the loss after allowing two earned runs in five innings on the mound and striking out two.
Ira Rootwood led Pacific Baseball Academy at the plate after going one-for-two, with a home run and recording two RBIs. Landon Sims paced his team with two hits, while Rootwood contributed two runs to lead Pacific Baseball Academy. Benjamin Ruggier and Jackson Brinkman added two extra-base hits for Pacific Baseball Academy, recording double and a triple, respectively. Will Hayes went one-for-two at the plate with a triple, while Travis Varela drove in the Parker Jets' lone run of the contest.

- Ira Rootman opened scoring for Pacific Baseball Academy after he hit a hard line drive to left field and hustled around the bases to score on an error by the Parker Jets left fielder.
