CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball’s 2026 15U National Team Training Camp Phase 1 finished off its slate of intrasquad scrimmages Sunday at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Team Light Blue claimed an 8-4 victory over Team Navy, while Team Red rallied from down 8-2 before falling to Team Grey 10-9.

Team Light Blue 8, Team Navy 4

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Light Blue wasted no time getting on the board, as Kolt Hampton doubled to left on the second pitch of the game and Luca Briggs singled him home one batter later for his third RBI in as many games.
• The runs kept coming in the bottom of the second for Light Blue, as Micah Delos Reyes laced an RBI single to left field. Hampton struck again with a sac fly to deep right center that put the home team up 3-0.
• Clayton Ratliff was lights out on the bump for Light Blue over the first three innings. The 6-foot-3 righty surrendered no runs and punched out three Navy batters.
• Light Blue turned to the bullpen in the fourth inning, and Team Navy took advantage. A walk and a hit batsman set the table for Calvin Madenspacher, who squeaked a two-out double inside the left field line to clear the bases, making the score 3-2.
• Mason Miller responded immediately for Team Light Blue, launching a leadoff homer into the right field trees in the bottom of the fourth. Hampton followed up with his second sac fly RBI of the day, giving Light Blue a 5-2 lead.
• Three straight free passes proved costly for Team Navy in the sixth, and Chase Hallett capitalized with an RBI liner to center for a base hit and Light Blue’s sixth run.
• With two runners put on base to start the seventh inning, Navy was able to scratch across two runs on a fielder’s choice and Light Blue error. The unearned runs were the lone blemish on an otherwise perfect line from reliever Noah Vrzal, who tossed 2.1 innings with no hits and no walks.
• RBI singles from Leyton West and Hallett capped off the strong showing for Light Blue in the bottom of the seventh, and the home team prevailed 8-4.

NOTABLE STATS

• Two different hitters racked up three hits in Hallett and Kingston George. Hallett also walked to reach base a game-high four times.
• Miller led all hitters with five total bases, followed by George with four.
• Five players swiped bags in the game, including Tuck Richardson, who showed off his speed with two stolen bases for Team Navy.
• Ratliff finished as the only pitcher with a scoreless outing. His three strikeouts were a game high.

Team Grey 10, Team Red 9

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Both starting pitchers got off to a strong start, with Team Red’s Braylon Rogers striking out a batter for a scoreless first and Grey’s Michael Ohman inducing a double play to blank Red.
• Lucas Ota-Salas led off the top of the second with a double to deep left field for Team Red. After two quick outs it appeared Grey might escape the inning, but a clutch liner to right off the bat of Miles Lockridge plated the first run of the game.
• Team Grey also got rolling in the second after a Chris Worrell Jr. leadoff single to center. Three straight walks followed to score Worrell, and Ty Glaus drove in the second run on a sac fly to left. Another walk scored a run to give Grey a 3-1 lead.
• Red responded quickly in the next frame, with Paris Head singling on a hard chopper up the middle and advancing to third on an error. Jason Spray Jr. got the job done with a sac fly to center to score Head and cut the Grey lead to 3-2.
• The streak of leadoff base knocks continued in the bottom of the third as Greyson Wuis launched a fly ball to center field for a triple. Wuis trotted home immediately after when a wild pitch skipped to the backstop, giving Grey its fourth run of the ballgame.
• Walks and wild pitches plagued Team Red once again in the bottom of the fourth. Tyler Early walked, advanced to second on a hit by pitch, then took third and home on a series of errant pitches to make the score 5-2.
• Team Grey’s Jackson McAneeley was untouchable in relief for two innings. The Hawaii native had a flawless showing, recording five of his six outs via punchouts and allowing zero baserunners in the process.
• McAneeley set aside his glove and showed off his bat in the bottom of the fifth, singling on a ball down the third baseline to score Grey’s sixth run. The floodgates opened two batters later when Paxton Scoggin tripled to right, giving Grey an 8-2 lead.
• Team Red ignited a comeback in the top of the sixth, starting the inning with three straight walks and a Grayson Liddle RBI single. Two outs put the comeback in jeopardy, but a wild rally ensued to cut the game to just one run. Back-to-back RBI base knocks from Braxton Faulkner and Brandon Sweeney made it 8-5, then both scored on a wild pitch to make it 8-7.
• After Red’s Lathan Boddie blanked Grey in the bottom of the sixth, Liddle came through once again in the seventh. A two-out single from Ota-Salas brought the Washington D.C. native to the plate, where Liddle smoked the game-tying double on a liner to center. Faulkner batted next and proved clutch as well, as he snuck a groundball up to middle to score Liddle and give Red a 9-8 lead, completing the six-run comeback.
• Unfortunately for Team Red, Grey got the last word in the bottom of the seventh with McAneeley playing hero yet again. A walk and a single brought the 6-foot-2 slugger to bat with the winning run on base, and the Hawaii native burned Team Red with a towering triple over the centerfielder’s head. Team Grey flooded out of the dugout as the winning run crossed home for the 10-9 walk-off victory.

NOTABLE STATS

• McAneeley finished with a game-high three RBIs at the plate and five strikeouts on the bump. He also tied Wuis for the lead in total bases with four.
• Team Grey racked up an impressive three triples at the hands of McAneeley, Wuis, and Scoggin.
• Despite the loss, Team Red narrowly out-hit Team Grey 10-9. Faulkner, Liddle, and Ota-Salas led the way for Red with two hits apiece.
• The game featured three lead changes. Ryan Nicolaus scored the winning run for Team Grey, which finished the week undefeated.
