PHOENIX - On day two of the USA Baseball 15U National Team Championships in Arizona, Raoul Fabian of NorCal Baseball 2022 Blue and Jake Olguin-Pacheco of Slammers Holzemer have been named the Player and Pitcher of the Day, respectively, for their efforts in their team's wins.
Fabian had a 3-for-4 day at the plate for NorCal, knocking two doubles and a single in their 6-2 win over the CBA Warhawks. Today's win gives NorCal a 3-0 record so far in pool play after notching a three-pitcher combined no-hitter and a 9-1 victory in their doubleheader yesterday. Fabian is currently hitting at a .667 clip through three games while also putting up three RBI today.
Olguin-Pacheco started on the bump today for the Slammers, tossing five innings of one-hit ball without allowing a single run in his first start of the week. He also struck out seven in his outing to propel his squad to an 8-0 blank of Team Bad News and a perfect 3-0 record in the tournament.
