PHOENIX — Noah Fields collected six hits, four RBI and four stolen bases in a pair of wins for New Level Xtreme College Prep to earn Player of the Day honors for June 24 at the 17U National Team Championships Arizona.

Fields, a 6-foot catcher and outfielder, filled the box score throughout the day, which included three-hit efforts in both victories. He posted two doubles, drove in three runs, scored twice and added his first stolen base of the tournament in a 7-0 win against Aggies National 17U before he added to his impressive stat line with three more hits, including an RBI-single, and a trio of stolen bases in a 10-2 win against Trosky American 2022.

Fields' standout performance to begin the 17U National Team Championships has propelled New Level Xtreme College Prep to a spotless 3-0 mark through the first two days of pool play. The team will face Easton Prime Red (3-0) in its first seeded game at 7 a.m. MT on Friday at Peoria Sports Complex (Padres 6).

Oscar Villarreal delivered a complete-game, two-hit shutout and compiled 11 strikeouts to guide OC Ducks Elite to its first win at the 17U National Team Championships — a 1-0 victory against PFA Matadors.

Villarreal, a 6-foot-1 right-hander, retired 15 consecutive batters between the second and seventh innings before a one-out error allowed Ty Whiteman to reach base.

Villarreal struck out the side in the first to ignite his dominant outing.

OC Ducks Elite (1-1-1) is set to square off against Alpha Power 2022 (1-1-1) in its first game of seeded play at 7 a.m. MT on Friday at Camelback Ranch (Dodgers 4).
