PEORIA - On the final day of the 2019 USA Baseball National Team Championships in Arizona, Jaron Nevarez, Joe Brown and Robby Snelling have been named Co-Player and Pitcher of the Day, respectively, for June 29. The NorCal Baseball 2022 Blue teammates propelled their squad to a 9-3 gold medal game win this morning.
Nevarez went 2-for-3 with two singles in the championship match, knocking in one RBI while scoring two runs. Brown followed suit, going 2-for-3 with a single and a double. He also pushed one run across and scored twice himself. The third baseman put the Zoots on the board first in the bottom of the first with a one-run double, putting his team up 1-0 early.
Snelling pitched a complete game performance for NorCal. He struck out five and walked just one batter in seven innings of work. The pitcher gave up just nine runs in the tournament and carried.a 3.111 ERA.
