USA Baseball to Host 2025 Women's National Team Development Program

Event to be held October 15-19 at National Training Complex in conjunction with Baseball Canada

CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball is set to host its Women’s National Team Development Program (WNTDP) on October 15-19, 2025, at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.

The WTNDP, which will feature a 40-woman roster, will include five days of intrasquad games and positional workouts, skill development sessions, off-field educational seminars, and exposure to USA Baseball staff and coaches from the organization’s national team programs. The event will serve as a key component in the ongoing identification and preparation of future Women’s National Team programming in 2026 and 2027, and it will allow USA Baseball and the WNTDP coaching staff to assess and evaluate players throughout the five days.

“We are thrilled to bring back the Women’s National Team Development Program for the first time since 2021,” said Women’s National Team Program Director Makenzie Kelly. “As we prepare for the next Women’s Baseball World Cup in 2026 and 2027, this event will allow us to not only further develop the next generation of players, but also take the time to evaluate players to participate in future national team programming.”

The 2025 season will mark the first time since 2021 that USA Baseball has hosted its WNTDP, and it will have a heavy focus on developing the current and future generations of women’s baseball. It will bring together, through a rolling invitation process, the top talent from across the United States in a competitive and developmental-focused environment.

Additionally, Baseball Canada’s Women’s National Team will compile a roster to bring to Cary to make this year’s WNTDP a joint event. Like USA Baseball, their staff will use the event to evaluate players for future national team programming.

While both teams will primarily be carrying out development-based initiatives throughout the five days, the two nations will have an opportunity to play each other at various points to provide an international competition aspect to the WNTDP.

The USA Baseball WNTDP roster will include players identified from the All-American Girls Baseball Classic powered by USA Baseball, which will run July 31-August 3 at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park (DBAP) in Durham, North Carolina, and serve as the premier identification event for the WNTDP. USA Baseball will continue identifying athletes through a variety of events throughout the calendar year and in collaboration with coaches and organizations leading up to the WNTDP.
