CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today named the 26-player roster for the 2026 12U National Team Extended Training Camp. Extended Training Camp will take place from November 13-15 in Miami, Florida, as the U.S. prepares for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier from November 20-27 in the Dominican Republic.
The 12U National Team Extended Training Camp will feature three days of intrasquad games, on-field workouts, and more. The roster will be split into two teams for a three-game Stars vs. Stripes series, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate players in competitive gameplay. Following the conclusion of Extended Training Camp, USA Baseball will name the final 18-player 12U National Team that will train in Miami from November 16-17 before departing for the Dominican Republic.
“We are excited to announce our twenty-six-player Extended Training Camp roster that will compete for a spot on the 2026 USA Baseball 12U National Team," said 12U National Team Program Director Cole Beeker. "Our attention is firmly focused on assembling a team that will embrace the challenge of international competition while competing at the highest level in pursuit of a gold medal."
The 2026 12U National Team Training Camp roster features players from across the nation, as 13 different states are represented on the 26-player roster. California and Texas are responsible for the bulk of the talent at Training Camp, as the two states boast six players each. Arizona, Georgia, and Washington feature two players each on the roster, and Florida, Illinois, Iowa, Missouri, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia have one representative each.
Team USA will be led by Wes Brooks in 2026. Brooks is making his managerial debut for the stars and stripes after serving as pitching coach the last two years. He helped to guide the 12U National Team to gold medals at the 2024 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier and the 2025 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup. Brooks will be joined by Kyle Howell as pitching coach along with assistants Erick Quesada and David Houseton. Howell and Houseton are making their international coaching debuts, while Quesada returns to the staff after serving as an assistant coach at the 2023 and 2025 World Cup events. Additionally, seven-time national team alum Albert Almora will join the 12U National Team coaching staff as a Task Force coach at Extended Training Camp. Almora, who spent six seasons in the Major Leagues, played for USA Baseball’s 14U National Team in 2007 and 2008, its 16U National Team in 2009 and 2010, its 18U National Team in 2010 and 2011, and on its Premier12 team in 2015.
The 12U National Team has won nine gold medals in international competition since its inception in 2013. The most recent victory at the 2025 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup marks the program’s eighth gold medal in 12 years. The U.S. has medaled in six out of the seven WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cups it has participated in and currently leads all nations with six world cup titles.
