CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today named the 36-player roster for the 2026 12U National Team Training Camp following the 11U Futures Invitational in Cary, North Carolina. Training Camp will take place from June 22-26 in Cary as the U.S. prepares for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-12 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier from November 20-27 in the Dominican Republic.
The 12U National Team Training Camp will feature five days of intrasquad games, performance assessments, on-field workouts, and more. The roster will also be split into two teams for a four-game Stars vs. Stripes series, allowing the coaching staff to evaluate players in competitive gameplay. Following the conclusion of Training Camp, USA Baseball will name an Extended Training Camp roster that will reconvene prior to the World Cup Qualifier.
“We are thrilled to announce our thirty-six-player Training Camp roster that will compete for a spot on the 2026 USA Baseball 12U National Team," said 12U National Team Program Director Cole Beeker. "After a competitive week at the Futures Invitational among the nation's top 12-and-under athletes, we are confident in this year's players and their ability to play baseball at the highest level. Our attention now turns to assembling a championship-caliber team as we strive to bring home a gold medal this fall.”
The 2026 12U National Team Training Camp roster features players from across the nation, as 14 different states are represented on the 36-player roster. California and Texas are responsible for the bulk of the talent at Training Camp, as 10 athletes hail from California and seven hail from Texas. Arizona, Arkansas, Florida and Georgia also boast multiple players. Additionally, the roster features a balanced offensive makeup, with 18 right-handed batters, 17 lefties and one switch-hitter.
Team USA will be led by Wes Brooks in 2026. Brooks is making his managerial debut for the stars and stripes after serving as pitching coach on last year’s team that won gold at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup. Brooks will be joined by Kyle Howell as pitching coach along with assistants Erick Quesada and David Houseton. Howell and Houseton are making their international coaching debuts, while Quesada returns to the staff after serving as an assistant coach at the 2023 and 2025 World Cup events. The staff will be joined at Training Camp by another quartet of coaches with decades of experience in Eric Brown, Guy Civitello, Ryan Hall, and Roger Kieschnick.
The 12U National Team has won nine gold medals in international competition since its inception in 2013. The most recent victory at the 2025 WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup marks the program’s eighth gold medal in 12 years. The U.S. has medaled in six out of the seven WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cups it has participated in and currently leads all nations with six world cup titles.
