USA Baseball today announced the National Team Identification Series (NTIS) will end after 17 years. The NTIS began in 2009 and served as a piece of the organization’s national team and national team development program player identification process.
“On behalf of USA Baseball, we want to thank all the regional directors, administrators, volunteers, coaches, parents, and athletes who have contributed to the success of the National Team Identification Series over the last 17 years,” said USA Baseball General Manager of National Teams Ashley Bratcher. “We remain committed to identifying athletes from all over the country for national teams and development programs, and you will see that reflected in our programming in 2027 and beyond.”
The final NTIS Champions Cup concluded at the National Training Complex in August, where the Southwest Region won the Champions Cup for the seventh straight year. USA Baseball invited 73 athletes from the 2026 NTIS to national team training camps and development programs in 2027.
The detailed calendar of 2027 USA Baseball events will be announced at a later time and will include events in June, July, and August at the National Training Complex
