DURHAM, N.C. - USA Baseball announced the 36-man 2019 13U Athlete Development Program (ADP) roster on Thursday. The inaugural ADP, a four-day on- and off-field invitation-only development opportunity for athletes, will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, June 19-22.

The 2019 roster is made up of 36 athletes who have previously participated in national team identification events, including the USA Baseball National Team Identification Series (NTIS), the USA Baseball Futures Invitational and the USA Baseball 12U National Open.

In total, 19 of the invited athletes have participated in the USA Baseball 12U National Team identification process, including nine players from last year's 12U National Team Trials, three from the 2018 NTIS and two that participated in the 2018 12U National Open. The roster also features 16 members of the 2018 12U National Team that won the program's first-ever COPABE U-12 Pan-American Championships gold medal.

In addition, five members of the 13U ADP roster participated in the 2018 Futures Invitational and Seth Van Dyk (Ripon, Calif.) was identified from the inaugural USA Baseball Futures Series held in Irvine, California, in May.

"We are excited to have such a strong group of athletes for our first-ever Athlete Development Program," said Ashley Bratcher, USA Baseball's Senior Director of Baseball Operations. "All of these athletes have stood out to our staff at previous events and impressed them with their talent and character, so we look forward to continue their development and growth with this new and exciting opportunity."

The Athlete Development Program will offer unparalleled instruction provided by USA Baseball national team coaches, college coaches and select premier high school coaches from across the country.

Each day at the ADP will feature advanced on-field skills development with positional and team fundamental drills, as well as off-field components that will focus on education regarding the NCAA and the recruiting process, umpire interaction, nutrition and wellness guidance, strength and conditioning education, media training, and character and leadership development.

Participating athletes will be provided with an individual player assessment report by the coaching staff following the four-day event and this year's 13U ADP participants will be evaluated for the opportunity to be invited to the 2020 14U National Team Development Program.

Two-time national team coach Butch Chaffin will serve as the Field Coordinator for the 2019 13U ADP and will be joined on staff by eight coaches who-in addition to serving on the instructional staff-will direct the event's Stars and Stripes teams.

Rucker Taylor (Davidson College) will serve as the manager of the Stars team and he will be joined by Doug Creek as the pitching coach and assistant coaches David Houseton (Covenant Day School; Matthews, N.C.) and Tanner Veseley (Corona del Sol High School; Tempe, Ariz.).

The Stripes will be led by Jon McCormack (Florida Atlantic University) with Pitching Coach Scott Grove (The First Academy; Orlando, Fla.) and assistant coaches Roger Kieschnick (University of Texas at San Antonio) and Wes Brooks (Oxford High School; Oxford, Ala.) rounding out the staff.
