PHOENIX — Tanner Beltowski collected six hits and five RBI across a two-game stretch for Ventura County Baseball Academy (VCBA) to earn Player of the Day honors on Day 1 of bracket play at the 16U National Team Championships Arizona.

Beltowski, who reached base four times in VCBA's 11-7 win against BPA SD in the Round of 32, followed with another three-hit performance in a Round of 16 victory against GBG Renegades.

Beltowski, a 6-foot-1 infielder, owns a standout .591/.625/.682 slash line through six games for VCBA at the National Team Championships Arizona and has hit safely in all six contests, which includes three consecutive three-hit efforts.

VCBA (5-1) is set to face Canes Arizona (6-0) in Sunday's quarterfinal matchup.

Gabriel Hernandez (Dukes Baseball) captured Pitcher of the Day honors with a stellar performance on the mound against Trosky National 2023 in the Round of 32.

Hernandez spun 6.2 innings of three-hit, one-run ball and showed tremendous command with nine strikeouts and no walks in his first appearance on the mound at the tournament.

The 5-foot-10 right-hander's strong effort helped Dukes Baseball (4-2) squeeze past Trosky by a 2-1 final score and earn a spot in the Round of 16 against Alpha Prime 2023 (6-0).
