Cleveland, Ohio – “Fun at Bat presented by Ohio 529”, developed by USA Baseball and supported by Major League Baseball, the Cleveland Guardians and Ohio 529, provides introductory level bat-and-ball classroom instruction for kids with an emphasis on character development, functional movement, literacy, active play and fun.

This free program offering is available to all schools (grades K-5) throughout the state of Ohio. Separate curriculums have been created for grades K-2 & 3-5, that provide developmentally appropriate lesson plans that align with SHAPE America’s National Standards and Grade-Level Outcomes for Physical Education.

“I truly believe baseball is a game for everyone and that this program will truly help grow the game,” said Cleveland Guardians 3B José Ramírez. “This program offers all course materials in both English and Spanish languages for young learners across the state.”.”

Participating schools will receive quality equipment, USA Baseball Championship Principle Book, and other resources. Physical education teachers will also have access to free online courses which assist in teaching the basic fundamentals of the program.
