ABC and 3D Gold end opening game of 15U tournament in a tie
Arenado Baseball Club 10

PEORIA, Ariz - Seven runs in seven innings: that's what Aranado Baseball Club (ABC) and 3B Gold each scored in their first game of the 15U National Team Championship on Sunday at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, Arizona.
The matchup was a donnybrook from the start, with 3D Gold scoring two runs in the bottom half of the first inning before ABC came out in the second and took a 4-2 lead. The lead continued to flip flop until the defense kicked in to hold off anymore scoring attempts by either team.
3D Gold knotted the game at four in the bottom of the second when Steven Milam singled on a line drive and pushed courtesy runner, Connor Mattison, across the plate. The Gold took the lead in the next at-bat with another RBI single to left, this time off the bat of Derrick Mitchell.
An inning and a half later, ABC regained the lead. An Landon Runge single tied the bases after they were loaded by an error, a walk and a single. Patrick Fregoso was hit by a pitch to give ABC the lead and Damian Hernandez helped score the final run for ABC.
Play came to a close in a 7-7 decision after seven innings of play had been completed and time ran out on the clock. 3D Gold was able to come back with two triples and a double in the bottom of the fourth, but strong defense by both teams kept more runs from crossing the plate.
ABC put three guys on the mound in Sunday morning's game. Jakob Russell, Nathaniel Diaz, and Landon Runge combined for 11 hits, seven runs, four strikeouts, and six walks. 3D Gold split time between two Christian Ronocal and Ryan Ward. The pair tossed six strikeouts and two walks while giving up seven hits and seven runs.
ABC and 3D Gold continued their tournament action on Sunday, matching up with Play vista Orioles-Elite and Team Kado Hawaii, respectively. Both teams continue play on Monday and will receive a half win, half loss for seeding purposes.
