Phoenix – Cameron Casado tallied three extra-base hits and drove in seven runs in his two games for GBG Navy 2023 to secure Player of the Day Honors in pool play at the 17U National Team Championships Arizona. 

Casado went a perfect 4-for-4 in the first game against the California Bucs with a pair of doubles and four runs batted in. He followed that up with two hits in the next game, including a two-run triple in the first inning against Sticks Southwest CV 2023.

GBG Navy 2023 (2-0) will meet the Long Beach Bears (2-0) in its last pool play game, Tuesday morning at 9:45 a.m.

Adrian Garcia (Alpha SoCal 2023) earned Pitcher of the Day honors after a complete-game shutout on the mound against the CBA Warhawks in the first round of pool play.

Garcia hurled 7.0 innings of three-hit baseball with a tournament-high 12 strikeouts to just one walk in his first outing of the tournament. He got ahead of 15 of the 24 batters he faced on the afternoon and only let two runners reach scoring position.

The right-hander guided Alpha SoCal (1-0) to a narrow 1-0 victory in their game on Monday.
