PHOENIX — Brogan Enos collected three hits, three RBI and stole two bases to help send Show Cali National to the Round of 16 and earn Player of the Day honors for July 5 at the 15U National Team Championships Arizona.
Enos, who doubled twice in the 7-6 win against San Diego Show, helped drive home a crucial run in the bottom of the sixth and later came across to score the game-tying run. The 5-foot-11 shortstop also tied the game back in the fourth with a two-run single.
Enos posted a standout .500/.600/.750 slash line through six games at the tournament for Show Cali National. His three extra-base hits paced the team and his four stolen bases tied for the team lead.
Gabriel Howard struck out 10 batters in a complete-game, three-hit performance to help send Trosky National 2024 to the Round of 16 and capture the Pitcher of the Day honor for July 5 at the 15U National Team Championships Arizona.
Howard, who used an efficient 82 pitches through the seven innings, commanded the strike zone well to the tune of a 79 percent strike rate.
Howard, a 6-foot-3 right-hander and Oregon commit, struck out four of the first five batters he faced and struck out at least two batters in five separate innings.
Howard and Trosky National 2024 (5-1) are set to face ZT Elite SoCal (5-1) in the quarterfinals of the 15U National Team Championships at 7 a.m. MT on Tuesday at Surprise Stadium (Rangers 4).
