CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today revealed the 72 athletes selected from the 2025 National Team Identification Series (NTIS) for its 2026 national team programming, following the completion of the NTIS Champions Cup which was held August 7-24 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
Additionally, USA Baseball recently announced that the Southwest Region won the 2025 NTIS Champions Cup for the sixth consecutive summer.
The NTIS is the most comprehensive player identification program offered by USA Baseball. Using a six-region system for the initial player identification process, the NTIS holds tryouts in each region of the country for players to be identified and selected for their all-regional teams, and invited to the NTIS Champions Cup in Cary, North Carolina.
The NTIS Champions Cup consists of tournament-style play, with more than 1,200 of the country’s top players competing in 156 games in addition to skill testing and on-field evaluations run by the USA Baseball Task Force and national team coaches.
“We are excited to announce the seventy-two athletes selected from this summer’s National Team Identification Series to participate in USA Baseball’s 2026 national team programming,” said USA Baseball Assistant Director of Baseball Operations Jeff Feltman. “As anticipated, this summer saw talent and competitive spirit from every region and age group, making it difficult for USA Baseball’s Task Force to narrow down the field. Many high-caliber players made appearances at the National Training Complex, and we are confident the players selected will rise to the USA Baseball standard and we look forward to seeing them compete at the highest level in next summer’s national team programming.”
Twelve athletes from each age group were invited to compete in the following year’s age-appropriate national team programming events in 2026, including the 12U National Team Training Camp, 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP), the 15U National Team Training Camp, and 16U/17U National Team Development Program (NTDP).
In total, the 72 selected athletes represent 27 states and all six regions from across the U.S. California leads all states with 16 athletes being represented, while Florida has 10 athletes on the list and Texas accounts for nine players.
