CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today announced the roster for the 2026 Women’s National Team, following the completing of the Women’s National Team Training Camp. The final 20-woman roster will represent the United States at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Stage next month in Rockford, Illinois.
Following five days of workouts, practices, and intrasquad scrimmages, the roster has been finalized and is highlighted by 14 alumni and six newcomers who hail from 13 different states.
“We are ecstatic to announce this year’s Women’s National Team Roster following an extremely competitive five days of Training Camp,” said Women’s National Team Program Director Makenzie Kelly. “I know that these twenty players will rise to the occasion of playing at the biggest stage as we begin our ultimate quest for a World Cup title. We are excited to see what this team brings to the table as we shift our focus to next month’s Group Stage in July.”
The 14 alumni featured on this year’s roster own a combined 57 years of national team experience. The list of alumni on the team is highlighted by Meggie Meidlinger and Kelsie Whitmore, who will make their ninth and 10th national team appearances, respectively. This will be Denae Benites’ fifth national team appearance, while Alex Hugo, Kylee Lahners, and Ashton Lansdell have now each made a national team six times. Jillian Albayati, Jamie Baum, Kate Blunt, Elise Berger, Olivia Pichardo, and Remi Schaber have each secured a spot on a Women’s National Team roster for a fourth time, while this will be Alexia Jorge and Naomi Ryan’s third time playing on a national team.
Additionally, six players on the roster have secured their first national team nod: Jordan Andreas, Bailey Brown, Amira Hondras, Sarah Lessig, Ashanthy Marcano, and Addy Wilson.
The final Women’s National Team roster will reconvene in Chicago, Illinois, from July 16-20 for Training before traveling to Rockford, Illinois, for the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) Women’s Baseball World Cup Group Stage from July 22-26. This will be the first step in the program’s ultimate quest for a gold medal in 2027, as it will look to earn a spot in next year’s World Cup Finals, which will also be held in Rockford.
Among this year’s national team roster, 19 have participated in past Women’s National Team programming, including the Women’s National Team Training Camp, Women’s National Team Development Program, Women’s National Open, and the 2021 Girls’ Camp. Additionally, 15 players have attended a past girls’ development event jointly hosted in partnership with Major League Baseball, including the Trailblazer Series, Elite Development Invitational (EDI), Breakthrough Series, and MLB GRIT: Girls ID Tour.
This year’s coaching staff will be led by 2000 Olympic gold medalist Mike Kinkade, and he will be joined by five-time national team gold medalist coaches Jason Sekany and Tanner Vesely along with three-time Women’s National Team medalist Kristin Caldwell. Kinkade will be making his managerial debut, Sekany will serve as pitching coach, while Vesely and Caldwell will join as assistant coaches. The staff owns a combined 12 gold medals with USA Baseball as players and/or coaches.
