CARY, N.C. — USA Baseball today announced the roster for the 2026 16U/17U National Team Development Program (NTDP). The NTDP will be held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, and will run from July 27-30.

The sixth edition of the 16U/17U NTDP will feature an expanded 88-player roster split into four teams and is supported through a grant from the Easton Sports Development Foundation (ESDF). The expansion adds 16 players and reflects the foundation’s support of player development within the USA Baseball pipeline, as well as the continued growth and evolution of the program. The 16U/17U NTDP remains a marquee development event for the top amateur players in the nation and will continue to play a significant role in USA Baseball national team identification.

The 88 players will be split into four teams to compete in three games in a round-robin format. Players will additionally participate in on-field workouts, skill development sessions, off-field educational seminars, and gain exposure to professional scouts, college recruiters, USA Baseball staff, and national team coaches.

“We are excited to bring in the nation’s best 16-and-17-year-old talent for another year of the NTDP,” said USA Baseball NTDP Director, Jeff Feltman. “This program provides these young athletes the opportunity to receive first-class development and gain experience unlike any other event in front of premier coaches and scouts.”

The NTDP’s 20-man coaching staff brings a wealth of seasoned baseball expertise. Highlighted by the four field coordinators, including Jake Arrieta, Luke Gregeron, Brian Schneider, and Jack Wilson, who together possess over 50 years of major league and USA Baseball coaching experience. The other 16 coaches on staff hold tremendous coaching/playing experience as well. As for the 88 players selected to compete this summer, the athletes were primarily identified from both the 2026 National Team Championships in Arizona and North Carolina, as well as last year’s National Team Identification Series (NTIS) Champions Cup. These two events serve as the primary identification events for the NTDP, in addition to recommendations from professional scouts, coaches, and the amateur baseball community.

Eighteen USA Baseball alumni are featured on this year’s roster, including 12 players who won a gold medal for the 2025 15U National Team that went 4-0 at the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-15 Pan American - Central and North America in Mexico. That list includes Colin Anderson, Greyson Bell, Gavin Chakar, Anthony Frausto III,Tristin Gaines, Noah Jarolimek, Landon King, Jason Marll Jr., Mateo Mier, Trent O’Malley, Xavier Rodriguez, and Macgraw VanWormer. Anderson, Frausto, Gaines, Kerr, Mier, and O’Malley also played on USA Baseball’s 2022 12U National Team, along with fellow NTDP participants Levi Kerr and Eli Martinez, and won gold at the WBSC U-12 Baseball World Cup after an undefeated 8-0 run in Taiwan.

Rounding out the list of alumni participating at this year’s NTDP are Chase Cotton and Jeremiah Hall, who played on the 15U National Team in 2024, and Derek Vazquez and Jake Welch, who played on the 12U National Team in 2021.

Thirteen athletes, including 11 alumni attending this year’s NTDP have prior experience with USA Baseball development programming and have attended the 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP). Anderson (2023 and 2024), Cotton (2022 and 2023), Frausto (2023 and 2024), and Martinez (2023 and 2024) are all two-time ADP participants, while Bell (2024), Gaines (2024), Jarolimek (2023), Marll Jr. (2024), Mier (2024), and O’Malley (2024) have attended once before. Additionally, Jacob Carrasco and Brady Rallo participated in the 13U/14U Athlete Development Program (ADP) in 2023 and 2024, respectively, before returning to Cary for this year’s NTDP.

Just over half of the country’s states have at least one representative competing at the NTDP this summer. California leads all states with 17 players, followed by Texas with nine, Georgia with eight, and Florida with seven. Twenty-one out of the 26 states represented on the list have at least two or more players on it.
