
GOODYEAR, Ariz - West Coast Premier scored in every inning but the first, including a five-run seventh, en route to its 11-4 victory over TB SoCal Baseball on Monday at the Goodyear Sports Complex in Goodyear, Arizona.
TB hopped on the board first, scoring one run in the bottom of the first when Kian Sanchez grounded out to the pitcher and Jake Altman scored on the play. West Coast response in the next frame with a run of its own.
West Coast put runs across in the fourth and fifth innings to give the team a 3-1 advantage, but the fifth inning brought the biggest lead of the game. Aiden Nykoluk doubled on a line drive to left and moved to third on a single by Ryan Melton. Nykoluk and Melton scored in the next two at-bat on a single and a sac-fly, respectively.
TB SoCal looked to come back in the sixth. Altman led off with a single to left and scored when Sanchez knocked a single into center field. TB scored two more runs in the inning on a single and an error.
West Coast held a 6-4 lead heading into the top of the seventh when they managed to put five runs on the board. Five West Coast athletes singled in the inning, including Melton, Fabian Zamora, Carson Burns, J. Carillo and Carter Mierzwik.
TB SoCal returns to action on Tuesday at 7 a.m. (MST) against Rijo Athletics 14U Black on Indians 6. West Coast will take on Dykstra Baseball on Reds 3 Tuesday at 7:15.
