National Team Championships
The primary identification vehicle for the 2017 USA Baseball 15U National Team Trials will be the two 15U National Team Championships tournaments (East and West) to be held June 15-20 in Palm Beach County, Florida, and June 22-29 in the greater Phoenix area. To attend this event, players must be on a registered team admitted to the event. A minimum of 34 trials invitations will come from the 15U Championships based upon a player's performance during the week as evaluated by USA Baseball's on-site scouting task force.
National Team Identifcation Series
Players may also qualify for the following calendar year's 15U National Team Trials by competing in the National Team Identification Series. The NTIS is held each August and provides USA Baseball with an advanced look at the upcoming class of top players at the 11U, 13U, 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U level.
At the NTIS, USA Baseball Task Force members will identify a minimum of twelve (12) players for the following season's 15U National Team Trials. Players participate in the NTIS through a regional qualification process. For 2018, national team trials invitations were made based on performances at the 2017 14U NTIS. Players participating in the 2018 14U NTIS should have a birthday of January 1, 2004 or later.
National Team Development Program
Four players were also selected from the 2017 14U National Team Development Program for inclusion in the 2018 15U National Team Trials.
In addition, 18 players from the 2018 14U NTDP will be selected to immediately participate in the 15U National Team Trials. These 18, along with the 34 from the National Team Championships, 12 from the 2017 14U NTIS, four from the 2017 14U NTDP and the four director's picks, will come together to make the 72-man 15U Trials roster.
Additional secondary events may be held throughout the year by USA Baseball that may also be used to identify players for current or future 15U National Team Trials. These events may include, but are not limited to, the National High School Invitational (NHSI), 14U/17U Championships and additional events held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.
National Team Trials
Once the 72 players have been identified and invited, they will convene at the National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina, for the 2018 USA Baseball 15U National Team Trials. For the first portion of 15U Trials, players will be split into four teams and participate in practices and intrasquad games. After the first three days, the 72-man Trials roster will be cut down to 34 players. Those 34 will remain to participate in additional games and workouts to compete for one of the final 20 roster spots on the 2018 USA Baseball 15U National Team.
2019 15U National Team
