Peoria, Arizona

Early morning baseball hosted at the Seattle Mariners and San Diego Padres spring training facilities in Peoria saw both blowouts and heart-pounding games that went down to the wire. While the majority of the session’s close games were on the Mariners’ fields, the lopsided bouts were on the Padres’ set of fields.

Those blowouts included Trosky/Milwaukee Brewers Scout Team 2025 shutting out USA Prime Mountain West 13-0, GBG Utah 2025 Navy beating Quakes Baseball Academy 12-3, and PFA California ‘25 crushing Colorado Gold 15-0.

Over in the Mariners quad, teams like CBA Bulldogs National pulled out nail-biting wins over their opponents. The Bulldogs used expert pitching to hang around with TB SoCal Evoshield until their offense sprung to life in the top of the seventh, eventually winning 4-3 after a three-run frame.

Meanwhile, Trosky National 2025 edged out GBG Navy 2025 in a tight, 1-0 contest after Trosky used four pitchers to shutout GBG. Like Trosky, CBA Summit shut out their opposition on an adjacent field. Defeating BPA 3-0, starting pitcher Parker Staheli threw a complete game, only giving up two hits, one walk, and tossing seven strikeouts in one of the most impressive pitching performances of the tournament yet.

Later on in Peoria, teams finished their first games of the day with another close slate of results. GBG avenged its earlier one-run defeat with a one-run win, handing BPA its second loss of the day with a 2-1 win. After winning early on, Trosky National fell 8-2 to CBA Summit while the CBA Bulldogs moved to 3-0 in pool play with a 9-4 win over Trosky Force. After its early loss to CBA, TB SoCal Evoshield ran up the score over Wow Factor G’s Lions, winning 14-2.

Over at the Padres’ quad, PFA California lost in a close, 5-4 bout with Quakes Baseball Academy. Colorado Gold suffered its second straight shutout loss of the day, falling 11-0 to GBG Utah, while Trosky/Milwaukee got its second win of the morning after beating Prime 17U Navy 5-2.

Surprise, Arizona

Early in the morning at Surprise, teams competed at the Texas Rangers and Kansas City Royals’ spring training facilities. A pair of close matchups defined the games at the Rangers’ quad early in the morning, while more high scoring games occurred at the Royals’ set of fields.

On the Rangers side, WOW Factor West beat Zoots Baseball Club-Black 3-1 while warding off Zoots in the bottom of the seventh frame. Legacy Baseball Group 17U Elite beat out Badlands Baseball 17U via a four-run second inning. Even though those were close, MASH National 2025’s dominated Team California USA won 8-1 after running away with the contest with a five-run fifth inning.

On the Royals’ quad, Alpha Power shutout 17U Ghost National in an explosive 8-0 win. Team Kado Hawaii White and the ZT Renegades won 7-2 and 7-4 over the Colton Nighthawks and AZBC 2025, respectively.

The second leg of the doubleheaders in Surprise provided more entertaining, high-flying action. SoCal Birds White beat MASH National 6-1, and 5 Star West 2025 downed Team California 12-4 after putting up a monstrous nine-run third frame.

To finish off action in the latter round at the Rangers’ quad, Legacy Baseball Group eked out a close 7-6 win after their six-run fourth frame and stopped their opponents — WOW Factor West — in the fifth and final inning after Legacy gave up three runs.

Over on the Royals’ side, Alpha Power ran up the score over the Colton Nighthawks, shutting them out 13-0. Team Kado White and the ZT Renegades each won their second game of the day — Kado won 8-4 over 17U Ghost National and the Renegades earned a close 6-5 win over GBG Navy American. To finish the group off, City Showcase beat AZBC 7-2 after scoring in four of six innings.
