Breaking Barriers is a cornerstone initiative of the USA Baseball Foundation, dedicated to making baseball accessible and inclusive, with a primary focus on empowering women to play the game. The USA Baseball Foundation is proud to support this historically underrepresented community of baseball players, ensuring that all women and girls, regardless of background or location, have the opportunity to play the game.

This initiative aims to champion the rise of women in baseball and is already paving the way, culminating in the success of the USA Baseball Women’s National Team. The team has made history since its launch in 2004, winning the first-ever Women’s Baseball World Cup and defending its title with another gold medal in 2006. This momentum carried forward, reaching new heights when the Pan American Sports Organization added women’s baseball to the Toronto 2015 Pan Am Games program, marking the first time women’s baseball was recognized by the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC).

Amplify the Game is a transformative initiative aimed at growing baseball throughout the United States. We are committed to creating opportunities for children to discover and fall in love with the game. By introducing baseball in traditional and non-traditional ways to new areas, we hope to cultivate the next generation of fans and players, ensuring fans for life and the sport’s prosperous future.

We are dedicated to building a foundation for players, coaches, umpires, parents and fans that fosters growth and sustainability in baseball communities and leagues nationwide. By providing these resources, we aim to help the game thrive and expand, offering more children the chance to participate in baseball. This includes developing new programs for kids focused on engagement and retention, ensuring they will become fans for life.

Ignite a Passion is the heart of the USA Baseball Foundation’s mission, dedicated to growing a lifelong love for baseball in children across the country. Through the efforts of our other cornerstone initiatives -- Breaking Barriers and Amplifying the Game -- we aim to spark enthusiasm for the sport.
