Team USA to travel to Panama for WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier

CARY, N.C. – USA Baseball today finalized the 18U National Team schedule for 2024, highlighted by the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC) U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier in Panama City, Panama, from August 2-11.

The U.S. will look to defend its WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier gold medal from 2022, when the stars and stripes went 8-0 in Los Cabos and La Paz, Mexico, to secure their sixth consecutive title at the event.

Prior to the Qualifier, the 18U National Team Training Camp will be held from July 17-21 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina. Training Camp will comprise 80 players and will feature on-field workouts, intrasquad games, and more before the final 18U National Team roster is announced on July 21.

The final 20-player roster will then reconvene in Cary for three days of 18U National Team Training at the USA Baseball National Training Complex from July 28-30. Following training, Team USA will travel to Panama to compete in the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier from August 2-11.

Since its inception in 1987, the 18U National Team program has won 10 world championships and 16 overall gold medals. The U.S. rode an unbeaten record to a gold medal in its most recent appearance at the WBSC U-18 Baseball World Cup Americas Qualifier in 2022, taking down Panama in the title game. The 18U National Team has compiled a 49-1 overall record in its last six trips to the Qualifier.
